My husband and I chose The Wyastone Hotel after reading about it on TripAdvisor. It was our jumping off point for a ramble in the Cotswolds and we booked for two nights. We couldn't have been more pleased with the large, newly-renovated, family suite #12. Clearly, Michael and Karen are paying close attention to the finer details in their gradual renovation process. They are charming, accommodating hosts and their staff was equally pleasant. The full breakfast was well-prepared and diningroom was charming. The upscale neighborhood was quiet and it was very easy to walk to Montepelier shopping areas and center Cheltenham. Another reviewer commented on the lack of water pressure in the shower and we must agree, but that was our only minor complaint as well.
We have no reservation about recommending The Wyastone to other travelers.

Three friends and I met up for a weekend in Cheltenham. We chose the Wyastone, as we wanted to stay in a smallish hotel and we wanted four single rooms. The Wyastone is situated in a very nice part of Cheltenham, the Montpelier district, and it has been refurbished recently. Our rooms, though small, were well furnished with everything we needed and with excellent shower rooms. The owners of the hotel, Karen and Michael Reynolds, were very helpful to us, recommending places to visit and advising us on directions, etc. The breakfasts were excellent, cooked freshly to order, and Karen recommended nearby restaurants to us for dinner, which were also very good. The hotel has a small bar and a very pretty garden and we would certainly stay there again on a future visit.

Great location for exploring the centre of Cheltenham. Could easily walk into town. We were lucky and got a cancellation room - the hotel was fully booked for the literary festival. We had a family room which was a great size - almost more of a 'suite' than a hotel room! Seemed to have been recently renovated - nice new bathroom etc. Very quiet (no noise from other rooms). Very nice breakfast.
Only reason for not giving the full 5 stars was that the water pressure wasn't brilliant in the shower, and I still thought it was fairly pricey, considering there were no hotel leisure facilities such as pool/ spa.
Would stay here again though.

We wanted a central hotel in Cheltenham, this was it. Walking distance to restaurants and city centre. Room 5 was very spacious and comfortable (huge bed), it is nice to be able to open the windows for some fresh air. Breakfast was fantastic, beautifully cooked and presented, lovely dining room. After a hard day's touring the home made leek & potato soup with hot crusty rolls was just what we needed, served in the room.
Many thanks to Michael & Karen and their friendly staff for making our 3 day stay so memorable. Free WiFi in the room was a big plus!
Would recommend this hotel highly to anyone staying in Cheltenham.

I originally booked room 12 for a girlie weekend for 3. In the end we had to change plans so my husband and I went instead and we had a lovely, albeit briefer, stay.

This triple room was big with an unzippable comfy king size bed that made 2 singles if you needed, plus a single that also had a trundle bed underneath. Compact modern clean bathroom with everything you needed. Shower a bit slow but perfectly useable. No anti scald device so careful if staying as a family with young children. Room very tastefully but subtley (& newly) decorated and furnished, with a large flat screen wall mounted TV and 2 armchairs. Public areas much more 'chintzy' but not overly so. At £135 including full breakfast thats just £45 each per night for 3 and perfect for girlies who want more to spend in the Chapel Spa on pampering! or families wanting comfort on a budget. Lots of choice for breakfast and a slightly later time for weekends. Very helpful and genuinely friendly owners

Location is perfect. Quiet street but just a stones throw from Montpellier and its exquisite shopping. Safe walk back in the late evening from bars and restaurants.

We shall return to do the girlie weekend!

This is my second stay at the Wyastone - and I was delighted to see the improvements and quality updates to the rooms. Michael and Karen the owners have put a great deal of work into making this a delightful place to stay.

My four poster bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless and the bathroom was a good size.

I loved being able to have salmon for my breakfasts and the fruit was always fresh. Coming from Australia I am spoilt for first class fruit and buffet breakfasts, theirs met the competition head on and excelled.

I will be back again in 2009 when I come to England for the Ashes so will book my room for my soujourn in the Cotswolds again - one of the loveiest parts of the UK

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

Myself & my colleague stayed here for 1 night on business in early september and had a lovely stay. Both of our rooms were very spacious and clean and the bed & pillows were really comfortable, we had a great nights sleep! The location is excellent for the Montpellier bars and restaurants too. The staff were always friendly and went out of their way to help with directions, recommendations etc. We only had breakfast here but it was delicious and very fresh. For the price you pay compared to some of the larger hotels in the vicinity i think you will find you have a bargain! we would definitely return when staying in Cheltenham and have recommended to others when visiting the area.
