One of my favourite restaurants, which we usually go to for a special treat. Food, wine and service is always top notch.

“Could be amazing”
Reviewed 18 December 2012

Charming welcome and service here, beautiful calm room. We had the vegetarian tasting menu which had some amazingly delicious things such as a dish with kohlrabi and mozarella ice cream, and the soufflé desserts was a triumph. Sadly also some disasters; the chef seasons like a meat eater i.e. masses of salt and over reduced sauces, the risotto none of us could finish as it was overpoweringly salty and garishly strong. The lack of subtlety such a shame but a culinary adventure nonetheless.

“Great Taster Menu Dinner”
Reviewed 18 December 2012

Had a wonderful night experiencing the innovative taster menu in this small, quiet, intimate venue. All our party really enjoyed every course - left feeling happy and smug that we had chosen this venue at the last minute and it had worked out so well! Apart from the absolutely delicious, interesting dishes of course after course (not too big so we were satisfied but not too full) - the service was a great mix of friendly, informative and warm. I've visited lots of Michelin starred restaurants and can only assume the Michelin chaps must be calling soon to award that star. Felt so inspired I have tried to reproduce a few of the dishes myself at home.

“Great little find”
Reviewed 9 December 2012

Went to lumiere on a saturday night so was very pleased to get in.Booked approx 4 weeks from date of phone call.Found this restaurant in the Times top 100 restaurants and this was straight in at number 37 so as myself and my partner like to eat out we thought this must be good. Not dissapointed from start to finish the food was of a very high class and the wine choices are very good also.We went for the tasting menu (7 course) which were all superb. My partner does not like beetroot but when one of the courses came with beetroot in it she thought she would not like it but she loved it.The time between courses to us was spot on and gave you time to relax and have a chat and also let the last course go down a little.(One review saying time between courses was to long.May be should have gone to Macdonalds!!!) We have eaten at some of the best Michelen stared restaurants around the country and would like to say you are up there with some of them.Head chef John Howe was a pleasure to meet.Keep up the good work.Thank you for a great evening and we will be back in the future.Regards Steve/Jane
