trying to be too many things to too many people and consequently gets muddled - I tried confit de canard, which was basically cooked like a simple chicken casserole, nothing like the real thing. My companions complained similarly about their dishes. Also very pretentious - this is a restaurant that takes pride in itself a little too far, the atmosphere is positively oozing with snobbery and a sense of its own superiority (a bit like the Promenade in the old days). Won't be going back in spite of all the plaudits its earned.
