After a lon day, a colleague and I were looking for somewhere to eat, quite late, and just happened by the Spice Lodge. What a find. Amazing building, juxtaposed amongst modern office blocks. The exterior and interior decor is finished to a very high standard. The friendliest staff ever helped us through a really interesting menu. In the end, we had 4 sides, because we just couldn't decide; an aubergine curry, a dahl, a paneer dish and an okra dish. Absolutely superb, and thoroughly reasonable bill.

We were staying across the road from The Spice Lodge, which was recommended by a local. Gloriously lit up from the outside, the interior was more dimly lit. As an old lodge house, diners are sat in a number of different rooms, which helped create a bit of an intimate atmosphere. We decided to eat a Thai meal rather than Indian. The mixed platter starter was plentiful for two and included suculent chilli chicken skewers, fish cakes and prawns. We then tucked into red and green curries with sticky and coconut rice. Both were very tasty and well worth the price. Would recommend it.

Decor is nothing special, you get value for money and the food is good for Cheltenham. Service is good and friendly. No, this restaurant is not special but it delivers for what it charges. Yes I have been there a few times while on business and will go again.

I visit this restaurant regularly, one of my favourites in Cheltenham. The staff are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is delicious, i always have the red thai curry with beef and coconut rice. I leave feeling full but not stuffed, just the right amount. I think this restaurant is very competitively priced, there are many Thai restaurants in Cheltenham and yet I always come back to this one.
Also try the all you can eat on a Sunday, food is cooked fresh and brought to the table.

HIGHLY recommend The Spice Lodge.

The restaurant is lovely and has a grand atmosphere. The car park is a bonus for central Cheltenham.
However, although the food was nice, the prices are high for what it is. Drink prices are also very steep.
If you are after a good atmosphere for a special occassion then it is worth a visit, however if all you're after is a decent curry, you may be disappointed with the prices.
