I took my two sons out for a curry, as we hadn't been for one for a while. So we decided to go back to the Spice Lodge. Menu was good with a choice of both Indian and Thai dishes. The service was good and of course the curry was hot! The restaurant had had a few negative comments but we couldn't fault the experience this evening.

We visited this time last year after a day at the Cheltenham Cricket festival and the service was slow and poor and the staff were worse. The food, however, was brilliant.
Even though we only live 20 minutes away and the food was great, the service has made us not want to go back. Plus we never spend that much when we go for a curry, so it's not that much of a bargain!
We thought as we were at the cricket again we would give it another go. Sunday night is eat all you can, from a menu. Indian and Thai. Once again the food was amazing.
And, even better, the service and staff were 100% better. They still aren't frIendly really and don't encourage you to have more food. But didn't roll their eyes when we did order more, filled my water glass without being asked and offered us extra chocolates on the way out.
I'm confident next year we will leave a tip. Might even go back before next year's festival.

We ate here with our sister Sue. The food was excellent and all the staff were extremely helpful and exceptionally polite. Te owner Mohammed visited our table to make sure EVERYTHING was to our satisfaction.....which it was. Some of our party had a mixture of Indian and some had Thai.....all dishes were superbly presented and the flavors were magnificent. Finally, what lovely surroundings and we will certainly be returning.

I have eaten here on numerous occasions at business networking lunches where service has been good and food pretty decent (set menus). However last week, I visited with my son to celebrate the end of his exams and ended up pretty disappointed.

All the waiters were disinterested. Menu was underwhelming. I am always concerned when a restaurant tries to cover 2 types of cuisine. Here they are offering Both Indian and Thai. We chose Indian dishes and found both starters and my main course lacking any interesting spicing and on one starter a really odd and not particularly pleasant sauce.

My son was happy with his lamb main which just about saved the day. We skipped desserts.

Friendly and genuine welcome on arrival. The atmosphere is great and the food was superb. A great dining experience. Prices are a little expensive and the desert menu was disappointing, so stick to starters and main courses and you wont be disappointed.
