My husband and I have been staying at Hope Orchard for our trips to visit my family for years, as the grounds are beautiful and it's very good value for money. Also, Liz and Graham are welcoming, friendly and laid-back (and the breakfasts are amazing).
I have several registered disabilities, and so the couple have seen me go through many ups and downs over the years. This particular "down" involved an inability to walk without pain and swelling in my feet and ankles, which I had prewarned them about (if it hadn't been my son's - who resides in Hereford - 18th birthday I would have postponed the trip). On arrival, pillows to elevate my feet were promptly found and deposited in our room (thank you!) and so I was able to recover from a long journey in reasonable comfort.
I was unable to get to the breakfast room and therefore missed the general chatter and laughter that I enjoy so much. However, Liz informed my husband that she could easily make up something for me so that I could eat in our room - which I did. The eggs are the freshest I've ever tasted, the bacon is out of this world and all breakfasts can be cooked to order on request. I only wish I had a larger appetite!
All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and, as usual, we were made to feel extremely welcome....My husband and I have been staying at Hope Orchard for our trips to visit my family for years, as the grounds are beautiful and it's very good value for money.
