“Local treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

I have lived locally for ten years and on the odd occasion we have lunch in town, usually pop into the same favourite place. On this occasion we looked further afield, coming across Jesse's by chance, rather tucked away. What luck!
The Ambience, the Varied Menu, the Willing Service and most importantly the Food, everything was lovely! My daughter, who was treating me is vegetarian and unlike many places found more than one tired old choice for herself. They were busy but the waitress who served us found time to tell us a little about the history of Jesse's when we inquired. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to visiting Jesse's again, more than likely for a treat one evening.

“Quiet, Personal and Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

We booked for 7:30 on a Saturday night and had a quiet table away from the front entrance and the open kitchen. The service was attentive but not intrusive with some very helpful recommendations on the menu. We didn't have a starter but mains and sweet with half bottle of wine and further glass of wine for a total price including service of £83-I would thoroughly recommend the steak and the selection of cheeses. We enjoyed it very much and would certainly go back again.

“distinctly average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

Considering the price the food was good, but not perfect. The service was what really let it down though. Three waitress and four tables of two and food was being taken to the wrong table! Open kitchen was a nice touch but i could overhear conversations from chefs and front of house staff i dont care to repeat. Lack of product knowledge from staff too

“little hidden away treasure..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

Lovely friendly staff , quick but unrushed service and great quality produce. We were served by what I would assume was the owner, He bought us a fabulous selection of very moreish cheeses....and the star was lost as I ran out of biscuits before I finished my cheese. Well worth a visit and I shall go back when not driving to drink some of the port sat next to the cheese.
