We had a fabulous stay for New Year. It is a great well equipped house in lovely surroundings. Its very clean and comfortable with all you could need for your stay. The house is really conveniently located close to the spa and pools.
I wouldn't hesitate to return to Songthrush.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Songthrush, beginning with a warm and informative welcome from Pete, who even texted us the day before to ensure we had a smooth arrival. The house is perfect for family cohabiting and by the end of our stay, our grandsons were ready to move in permanently! It is very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The location is also good. We were very close to the Spa , which we made full use of. On Saturday morning, we swam with the children in the pool. We also had a relaxing swim in the Spa on our last evening. We were the only ones in the pool!
The weather wasn't great, but there are lovely walks in the area. We did manage to walk to the source of the Thames.
We had my husband's 70th birthday lunch at The Potting Shed. All agreed it was delicious and had the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed celebration.
So, all in all , a 5***** break!

This is a super location - central and with great facilities - particularly attractive for those who enjoy an active holiday. The property is very well located within the complex and is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The owner (Liz Wren) is extremely helpful, efficient and accommodating, making sure that all is done to provide an enjoyable and stress free break. Definitely to be recommended!

Booked Songthrush for an extended family holiday. We were not disappointed. The house was comfortable and spacious. There was plenty to do in the estate to keep all of our party happy. With an age range of 2-83 there were things for everyone. The Spa/ Pool was very popular and used everyday.
The "Estate Grounds" and nature reserve are beautiful and great for walking or cycling. In fact there is so much to see and do in the area that we could have done with more time.
All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would highly recommend this place.

This is a very well maintained property that is the perfect place for holidaying with extended family. The lakes, walks and swimming pools on site mean that you do no need to leave the estate if you do not want to. Pedestrians have priority on the whole complex, making it a safe environment for children on foot or bikes. We will definitely be back.
Songthrush is a comfortable and spacious house with a homely feel.It was perfect for our visit of 3 generations aged from 3-70. The open plan ground floor has comfy sofas, large dining table and well equipped kitchen. All the furniture, fittings and linen are high spec. The 2nd floor bedroom is an amazing size and the children loved to come in at 6.30am and watch TV for a little while whilst we and their parents had an extra snooze! The booking with Liz was both friendly and efficient and she provided lots of information about the house, the estate and surrounding area. We felt at home straight away. The weather was very good for the whole week we were there so we enjoyed lots of walks round the lakes, cycling, tennis, football, sauna and swimming in all the pools.
Some of our group had massages in the spa and recommend those. The shoppers amongst us enjoyed a visit to Stroud and Chedworth Roman Villa is also recommended The children enjoyed paddling after a walk to nearby Neigh Bridge Country Park.We mainly cooked for family meals but had a lunch at The Weighbridge Inn at Langfords Mill nr Nailworth one day. This is a drive or cycle away. but worth it for their 2 in 1 pies! We shopped for food in Cirencester when supplies ran low but we saw plenty of delivery vans on the estate. The village shop has delicious food but is rather expensive but we enjoyed treats from there. Cars were always driven slowly on the estate and children were safe on bikes and scooters with supervision. At the rear of the house is a patio with BBQ, small lawn and then drops to a stream so toddlers would have to be watched. We had the patio doors open a lot with the warm weather and it was lovely to hear the bird song. The children were delighted with visits from the ducks and a swan.A perfect relaxing holiday in a lovely house in a beautiful area.

The house is spacious and had plenty of room for two families with five kids between us. It was spotlessly clean, modern and had everything we needed for our new year break.
Being located opposite the spa was a bonus and the kids loved swimming outside in the cold and frosty nights - I loved the sauna/steam room. The spa was clean with good long opening hours - thought the changing rooms get very busy and are quite small.
Can't fault the house, lovely views - and the swan mentioned by others visited us.
Recommend a trip to the Cotswold Animal Park, that was lovely with lots to see. Book the spa well in advance if you want a treatment, they look lovely - but are very busy. Football pitch and trampolines etc were a hit with the kids. Would definitely recommend even in winter.
