The Parish church is the focal point of the market place/town center. Cirencester has an amazing history if one cares to learn about it. The only problem our family had during our visit was that everything opened late and closed very early - this was Mid July and we used Cirencester as our home-base to go explore The Costswolds and Bath. So,when we came back from visiting other areas and would have liked to shop in the city a bit , all the stores were closed - On a scale of 0 to 10 of villages within the Cotswolds, I would give cirencester and the Parish church a 4. The church doesn't seem to have been taken care of as well as some of the others throughout the Cotswolds. Still, its a wonderful little village, with character and charm, peace and quiet and history that should not be forgotten.
