Cirencester Amphitheatre

The Bull Ring is a lovely adventure/wild area of parkland which wears its Roman credentials with great modesty. Good for walking dogs, children or dawdling but go to the Corinium Musuem first and it will come to life for you.

Lots of history round and about and chocolate box villages. Particularly interesting was Chedworth, a roman villa. Amphitheatre was just grass covered mounds so not really worth bothering about thats all that was visible.

I have driven past the sign to this attraction on the main road hundreds of times and I have now finally seen it (after a struggle to find it). Having seen other amphitheatres in Italy (Fiesole and Lecce to name two) I expected it to have the seats at least partly present. In fact it is just earth banks so I am glad that I only went 300yds out of my way.

A big open area that gives a small flavour of 2000 years ago. I found it inspiring. Worth visiting if you are in the area, but not worth a special trip unless you are a big Roman buff (there's nothing else to do but run up and down the banks chasing the kids)

This is a great place, if not easy to find if you do not know where you are going!

Have walked around here several times, but had the best time there in the snow sledging with the children - it does get very busy!
