I stayed over on a Bed and Breakfast basis in July 2021. The room was lovely and clean with ensuite as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The pub/restaurant next door served a fantastic evening meal and offered good value.

From the moment I arrived, the level of service was brilliant. Local knowledge and humour were shared which helped make the evening. Breakfast in the same restaurant was equally as good, with a full cooked meal. As this trip was in Covid times, I booked the time for the evening meal and breakfast.

The Thames Head also has a campsite behind it which was well laid out and fully equipped with hard standings, power and shower facilities. Would be happy to go back either on a B&B or camping basis.

Was really delighted with the visit and it was a pity it was only one night.

We had the special of the day, beef medallions in a port sauce. Not cheap but very, very nice. Pleasant staff.

Passing on route, Thursday evening at 7pm. Board says food served all day. Great.
Turns round and pulls in. Parks up, people eating and being served outside, smells delicious, goes in.
Bloke behind bar says not serving food - too busy. No queue at bar, everyone seems to be eating, a couple tables no food. Really....too busy to serve or too lazy?
Can I suggest you take your board in then so people don't waste their time!

We booked a couple of nights in this Inn as we wanted a few days in Cirencester, somewhere we had never been, so booked on the proximity. We were so very pleasantly surprised on arrival as the food was, to be blunt, out of this world. Really excellent. The 4 rooms at the inn are a set of (what looks like) old mews. So, not large but comfortable non-the-less. Our only 'complaint' was that room 4 had a bath with a hand held shower attachment. We are both in the autumn of our lives so much prefer a shower. Apart from that (very minor) thing, a great place to spend a few days. I can strongly recommend the Beef Medallions with Port & Stilton sauce - WOW!

We stayed in the campsite in tents and were made welcome from the second we arrived.
Lovely facilities although our only gripe is an extra toilet or even a stand alone portaloo would have helped.

Food in the pub was outstanding
