We had a fabulous weekend at Trout Lodge, swimming, paddle boarding and relaxing for my 50th birthday. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed, hoping to return soon.
I spent a long weekend in May in this fantastic house with friends. The open plan living / kitchen / dining area (first floor) is really well furnished and equipped and was spotlessly clean. The balcony and terrace look out over a nice garden area with a small pond and both catch the early evening sun.
The facilities on Lower Mill are great too, particularly the Spa and two of us had a really good massage while we were there. The whole of the estate is really well kept and although we were there on a busy bank holiday weekend it didn’t feel overcrowded, although we tended to use the pool during the ‘adult only’ sessions.
Although the shop on the estate is really small, the staff found us onions from the kitchen.
The owners, Tim and Suzanne, were really helpful and professional, doing everything on time including very prompt return of security deposit.
I’m sure I’ll be back to Lower Mill some time and if with a larger group I would definitely book Trout Lodge again.
We had a lovely long weekend at the Trout Lodge in March. The Lower Mill Estate had a lot to offer and the house was conveniently close to the spa facilities and the restaurant. The Lodge was also well equipped with all we needed from all kitchen necessities to cook a nice dinner to board games and books to chill with. We received a lot of useful information, as well as a nice welcome gift from the hosts, which made our stay even more productive and enjoyable :)
A beautifully cared for, well equipped home on the Lower Mill Estate which has fabulous swimming pools, steam room and sauna. We had 3 generations under one roof, and we all had an amazing time for a long weekend stay. Tim was so helpful in planning our trip and making it all run smoothly, even down to sending me up to date travel reports as we were arriving in the snow. We all said that we would definitely come again. Thank you Tim and Suzanne for helping our weekend go so well.
We stayed with some friends and had four kids in our party. It was the perfect house, fitting us all in with tons of space. My girls loved the bunk beds!! Location was lovely too, so many amazing pubs around and the spa and swimming pool were wonderful. Kitchen was really well resourced.
Our family group, 8 of us, enjoyed a delightful Christmas week at Trout Lodge over Christmas. The house was very well catered for, from washing machine to 'equipment' for little ones including little tables & chairs, Brio train and various family games. The kitchen is spacious and well furnished.
The facilties on site are very good, Spa, pools, playground, walks, cycle routes, gym (although was in refurbishement during our stay), small cafe/restaurant/emergency shop.
The house was spotless upon our arrival, the wood burning stove is beautiful and useful too. Plenty of hot water, even for a large group.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. My grandchildren loved the space (3 floors) and wanted to make it their home.
Suzanne and Tim were very helpful with informations reg arrival, bike storage, car permits, and they responded very quickly to any queries.
A great week in a lovely house. Can highly recommend.
My friends and I stayed for a weekend, to have an early christmas celebration. The property was beautiful and spacious, and the 9 of us stayed very comfortably. It had everything in it, from dishwasher to wood burner, to washing machine. The owners, Suzanne and TIm, were really helpful and the booking was easy. The actual site itself was gorgeous. Really relaxing and peaceful, with lots of lakes and fantastic views. There is a nice little bar/restaurant on the site which we went to for one night, and cooked for ourselves the second night, having ordered our food online and getting it delivered to our door. I would definitely go back there again.
