Peaceful and located well

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 Jul 2023via mobile
This is in a good, quiet location and walkable about 5 minutes into the centre. It is spotless clean, with a lovely garden and ample parking. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who showed us to our room. I believe there are 15 bedrooms. Our room was lovely, bed comfortable and again very peaceful of a nighttime. The shower was powerful and complimentary soap and shower gel. The room was cleaned each day, with the towels. There is coffee, tea and biscuits with 2 bottles of water each day is replenished.
The breakfast is gorgeous with such a good choice and was served by a lovely lady I think her name was Julie. We ate once in the restaurant and the food is home made and was excellent.
The bar area is small and quirky and a few locals go in there. Honestly, such a beautiful place and thank you to all the staff that make it picture perfect. We loved it so much.

Visited this Hotel/Restaurant for lunch which was very pleasant, the staff were very attentive and the food was very nice, I wouldn’t hesitate to return if I was back in Cirencester. The restaurant seems to be the local meeting place for local residents who meet for the odd libation and and social interaction.

Great garden, nice restaurant, friendly staff, great location and large car park. I’d highly recommend this hotel with one proviso. The bathrooms are rather small, but that’s what you get in a building erected in 1595 when Shakespeare was his most prolific. The upper rooms have steep stairs and if you have a lot of luggage book ahead ask for one of the two ground-floor rooms, 1 or 2, though the staff are willing to carry your cases if necessary. Cirencester is a wonderful town built from Cotswold stone. A special mention to Julie and Alex, the two managers. And Irish Margaret from Galway.

The Roman museum is well worth a visit. The best curated display I’ve ever seen.

Room tip: Book early for rooms 1 or 2 on the ground floor if you’re older or with lots of luggage.

I recently visited this hotel whilst on a tour with a friend. Everything about it was excellent! The proprietors were very helpful, friendly and attentive as were the staff.
The room was very clean and comfortable and in keeping with what is a very elegant building.
Breakfast was a real treat, beautifully presented, piping hot and very tasty. (We both had the full English!)
The restaurant was also a lovely area and we had a table overlooking the garden which was very pleasant.
We would both stay there again without hesitation and will probably bring our wives next time!
Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous stay at the Corinium Hotel! All the staff and the manager, Julie, were absolutely lovely, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was delicious and served with a smile. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hotel has a lovely, warm feel to it and lots of little alcoves where you can sit and relax and read. It's also in an amazing location, just a few minutes walk from the centre and the Corinium Museum and other sites of interest. Would definitely recommend to friends and hope to visit again soon! Thank you so much!

We stayed for two nights at the Corinium Hotel and Restaurant this weekend and absolutely loved our stay. Everything was perfect....from the friendliness of staff to the comfort of our room to the absolutely amazing breakfast (possibly the best we've had in a hotel ever). We had hoped to enjoy a few drinks in the walled beer garden but unfortunately the weather was a little cool and so we ended up in the bar. This, however, is also a lovely area to sit and enjoy a drink. We ate in the hotel on one evening only and this was okay, not amazing but certainly enjoyable. The hotel is only a four minute walk from the centre of Cirencester and so there are so many lovely places to visit for a meal or a drink, or even a wander. All in all a lovely break and again, the staff were absolutely lovely, ever single one of them. We have already recommended this hotel to friends who enjoy a weekend away and we will definitely be returning at some point in the future.
