“Great accommodation, quiet location”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

A great place to stay as a family. We stayed in railway cottage #1, which had 2 bedrooms upstairs, a very updated bathroom and a full kitchen. There is a small washing machine only but a launderette is just a 2 minute walk away. We found using that faster and easier. We arrived late in the evening by car, but had been given clear directions on how to get into the cottage. There is a small free car park right on the premise. Great wi-fi in the cottage. The beds were clean and comfortable, the couches are a bit worn but cozy. My only suggestion would be to have a welcome binder in the cottage for those of us arriving late. It would be helpful to have clear instructions on how some things work and suggestions on dining, etc. It is walking distance to everything in town.
Moreton-in-Marsh is just a few minutes by car to several other quaint towns like Chipping Campden and Stow-on -Wold.

We would absolutely stay here again.

Booked Minstrels for a birthday celebration. Fabulous location, central to the village and next to the railway station. Ideal for day visit to Oxford. There are a few small reasons why I didn't give it an excellent. Why, when the cottage is so well equipped do they supply plastic glasses??? Not nice for drinking out of, especially champagne!!! I got around this by going to the shops to buy some real ones. Also great shower but random settings. It's a surprise each time you use it where the water is going to come out from!!! More towels also need to be allocated.
Overall a good place to stay, just needs these small things addressing.

As for the cottage, our suite was perfect. We cooked up breakfasts and dinners daily in the kitchenette (with full oven and stovetop), had comfortable showers in the steamy bathroom enclosure after long touring days, and relaxed comfortably on couch in the evenings watching tv while drinking tea (which was provided to us in a small welcome basket with oj, oranges, toast, butter, cheese, and milk upon arrival). Emma also provided us with a wonderful choice of books by British authors and we loved reading books in the evening to unwind before bed. For light sleepers, you should know that while the town is VERY quiet the cottage is on a street (not far from the town center and rail station) and our suite had a neighbor upstairs so if you aren't used to living in an apartment there may be some noise at night and in the morning from outside.

Location is EVERYTHING. The town is fantastic. We arrived on Tuesday and visited the largest street market in the Cotswolds and picked up fresh produce, farm fresh eggs, locally raised ham, and specialty breads for our breakfasts saving us at least $20-$30/daily. The cottage is 1 block to the rail station (so you can catch trains or buses to other towns around the Cotswolds). Don't know where to visit? The Tourist Information office ladies were so helpful- 1 block in the other direction. Finally, several grocery stores to pickup fresh vegetables, meats, and beers for dinners were within a few block radius of the cottage. If you're not interested in cooking, restaurants and cafes surround the town square near the TI office.

We have been travelling together nearly a decade and this is one of the finest lodgings we have stayed at during our time together. Highly recommended for budget minded travellers, couples looking for a romantic escape, and explorers who want a hometown to get around the Cotswolds easily (trains to London, Oxford, and Bath are easy to get from Moreton-in-Marsh and buses run from the rail station to any small town you can think to visit in the Cotswolds).

If you book here you won't regret it-- it was the highlight of our vacation!

Have just spent a lovely 3 night break with my family staying in the Gallery apartment. We would highly recommend this, and are really hoping to stay again at some point. The accommodation is well equipped, well laid out and very comfortable. Emma isn't exaggerating about how steep the ladder is to the gallery bedroom, so wouldn't recommend this for anybody with young children or those without a good sense of balance.

Perfect central location, excellently equipped apartments. Emma is very helpful and I loved the stay. I had Moreton suite which was brilliant with the dual access and little courtyard and my parents had Stow which looked out onto my courtyard. I would highly recommend these apartments as an excellent base to discover the Cotswolds.

We stayed in this cottage for a wedding for two nights in a group of six. The cottages were well equipped, amazing bathroom facilities and comfy beds. The 5th and 6th bed was on the sofa but this opened out easily and was massive. Would 100% stay here again, would even plan a trip just to stay in these cottages again. The ease of being able to pick up the keys and check out helped make the weekend run as smooth as possible.

My family of six stayed at cottage number 2 in May. The place was a perfect combination of jumping off point for the Cotswolds, and home-away-from-home. Full kitchen was great (my wife loves to cook), property is very quiet, parking is a bit cramped though.
Owners were very accomodating.
Looking forward to getting back to the Cotswolds and using the Railway Cottages as our base again.
Hoping it doesn't rain as much though (the locals said it was unusually rainy, but I think they're fibbing).
