Swan Inn

Whilst staying in the area decided to try The Swan for a meal and was not disappointed. We had Sirloin Steak and Steak and Ale pie, the steak melted in the mouth and my pie was just right, served as an individual full crush pie, not in one of those awful individual pie dishes with pastry on top, all home made I would say, plum pie for dessert was definitely home made (well done Chef). Friendly atmosphere, would certainly use again.

If I could have related this place zero I would have.we stopped at the swan for a meal we waited over 45 min for the food we had to ask twice how much longer the food was going to be, we got very close to walking out as the children were getting very hungry. The staff were not very helpful the bar man was quite rude and the corridor leading to the kitchen was disgusting the floor was littered with food which was on open view to everyone. The food tasted like it had been cooked from frozen and bought from brake bros. We will not be reccomending the swan to our friends & I certainly will not visit the pub again.

Room Tip: Sleep was virtually impossible due to very noisy regulars in the pub

Very disappointed with the attitude of front of house staff and subsequently the manager.
Having waited over 45 mins for our basic meal we were at the point of walking out, we had already once queried how much longer we were expecting to wait. At time of second complaint the "bell" rung to say our meal was ready so felt obliged to sit and eat in the cold, in need of decoration dining room.
Granted we were in a local inn, however the noise did not come from over zealous regulars but that of the barman's warbling in the corridor directly behind our table!
No apology was offered when meal arrived and on complaining after was told that what did we expect in a pub on a Saturday afternoon!? charming, the staff clearly got their customer service training from the back of a corn flake packet, bring in the manager whom clearly got hers from the same place. A simple apology would have pacified the situation, but again was not offered.
In the end i was pleased to have only paid for 3 out of 4 meals, free drinks and 10% discount.....but still paid for 3 meals too much!
Would be interested to see what environmental health thought of the condition of kitchen areas which were on view en route to the toilets, if they are happy for us to see this mess i would not be surprised as to what could be found behind the kitchen door!
Needless to say i will not waste my hard earned cash on a return visit
Good luck to all at the swan i think you may need it!

Nice large updated room in an charming inn. The staff was so kind and helpful, always anxious to help in any way. The food in the restaurant was very good. It is a clean, well decorated and quiet inn. We were here for 3 nights in May. Easy access to the local buses to get to other little villages. A good choice if you are planning to stay in Moreton.

Room Tip: Room 7 overlooks the main road, light traffic at night. It was not a problem for us.

Stopped here for an informal bite to eat on a Sunday lunchtime having looked at their website and saw that they were offering something for everyone in our party of four. Mistake. Stark, unfinished and rather unwelcoming environment. Service extremely slow, and having ordered double egg and chips was served with FOUR rather greasy looking eggs, one of which was inedible! Pretty sure I was charged over the odds but without an itemised bill there was no way of checking. Was so desperate to get out that I couldn't be bothered to query it. Would I recommend this place? No, sorry.

Stayed here two nights. Small family run hotel with the accent on quality and friendliness. Rooms are boutique style tastefully decorated and clean. Food is excellent and freshly prepared by staff who are industrious and dedicated. All staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We noted patrons from nearby more expensive establishments eating and drinking here throughout the day, testament to the better value of this establishment.

My mother and I spent two nights in a comfortable, twin-bedded room with a good en-suite bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. They picked us up and took us to the train station, which was nearby, but it was pouring rain. The breakfast was good and hearty and we ate good pub fare for dinner as well. Our room was fairly quiet and we did not hear much of the disco that was on Saturday night. I would definitely recommend the Swan Inn.
