My wife and I were taking our 2 friends out for afternoon tea. We arrived at 4.00pm and were left to find our own table. We sat down and minutes later the young waitress took our order. We ordered two High Teas at £17.95 per couple and one of our friends ordered coffee instead of tea. The tea and coffee came promptly and the sandwiches and cakes followed some time after. The high tea was most disappointing comprising of half a dozen tiny assorted sandwiches two tiny pieces of chocolate fudge cake and two little scones with clotted cream and jam and to top it all this was to be shared between two people. At 4.45pm the two young waitresses made it plain that they were packing up as they wanted to leave at 5.00pm. They had the affrontery to charge extra for the coffee with the whole price coming to £37.70.
We felt this was very BAD value for money served by two girls who did not want to be there.
Spoilt a good afternoon.
