The hotel is in the heart of the High Street and an ideal location for bars, and coffee shops. Parking around the back was good unless you were like us and had a ground floor room in the annexe. We had to duck under a low hanging basket, directly on the path way, right by our room. The parking spaces were only a couple of feet from your door, which meant you heard all the early risers leaving the hotel from starting their engines to banging their doors. We had Room 20 a superior double. The bedroom itself was fine with a super king bed and good furnishings. Although can someone alter the curtains so they fit! The bathroom, oh dear where do I start - cracked tiles on the floor, a mirror which had a chunk out of it in the top corner, a shower door which didn't fit/close, a shower that trickled water even on full power, a door frame which was flacking paint, black mould around the shower tray grouting, just terrible. The bathroom spoilt the room. The staff - the female receptionist and the waitresses were lovely and very helpful. I wasn't convenience the bar men wanted to be there and even less so when residents stayed up after 11am for drinks and were charging drinks to their rooms! Which probably meant they were going home late! The food was very good, both breakfast and dinner. Keep the lamb on the dinner menu, you certainly didn't need a knife to cut it, absolutely mouth watering. Would I return - sorry no. The Manor House Hotel which is 4 * is cheaper to stay at, the bar is more inviting and the bar staff are certainly more friendly (yes we checked it out whilst staying at the Redesdale).

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms are quieter in the annexe, although some are smaller than the ground floor rooms i.e...

My wife and I decided to attend the North Cotswold Beer festival at Moreton in Marsh (which was a great event) and therefore needed accommodation for the weekend. We have stopped at the Redesdale in the past on the odd occasion going back over the years and have seen a few changes over that time. We booked on their website to get a good deal which included a bonus glass of French Fizzy. An early check in was requested and achieved. There is off road parking round the back and a modest seating area where you can sit and enjoy the sun. The staff were friendly helpful folk, particularly the receptionist who was cheerful and efficient. I love the front bar area, comfortable with local well kept reals ales on offer and walls adorned with the comical (and occasionally cheeky) art of Tim Bulmer.

We were given room 6 in the main hotel. No.6 faces the busy main road but noise was not too much of a problem if the secondary glazing was pulled shut at night, besides it was nice to watch the world go by. The room was clean with plenty of storage and a large bed. The en-suite was fine although the shower was a bit compact for my liking plus the shower riser was a touch on the wobbly side but no real complaints.

The hotel is well situated and close to Moreton’s shops and pubs, in fact it is next door to the renowned Cotswold Cheese company. The bus stop is just opposite and you can catch buses to Stow-on the- Wold, as we did, or Bourton on the Water.

The hotel breakfast came with a choice of self service or food cooked to order. Saturday morning was very busy and we had to wait for a few minutes for some self service food to be replenished but coffee and toast came to the table in good time so it was not really a major problem. On Sunday morning I had veggie sausages cooked to order then added eggs, mushrooms, beans etc. from the chafing dishes, a very nice way to finish our weekend in the Cotswolds.

My wife and myself have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel, 22nd & 23rd September (5th visit), On arrival we were given a free upgrade room by a very polite young man on reception, with a large king size bed, quite firm but slept very well, flat screen television, very nice bathroom with good shower ect, free Wi-Fi, Food was good, breakfast was very good, Drinks are pricey, staff all friendly and polite as previous review.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back in the annex are quieter.

If your goal is to experience a market town in The Cotswolds...this is a great place to visit. We were there one afternoon and stayed the evening ( that was more than enough time to experience Moreton in Marsh.) the Redesdale Arms Hotel was very conveniently located right in the center of the shopping / eating/ drinking area - also very close to the train station! Our room was nice, clean, plenty of room for two. The only negatives arose at the break of dawn the next morning....the loud back and forth of some large cart / service cart? ( cleaning? Idk?) sounded like repeated thunder or maybe someone bowling on the cobblestone outside our door. Next the shower was impossible to regulate....ice cold or scalding hot (trickle of water) were the only two choices! Overall a decent place to stay....just a rough way to start the day :( !

We overnighted here but wished we could have had longer. The room was large and well equipped and incredibly quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we particularly like the fact that you could find the bathroom in the night without having to put the lights on. We appreciated the the complimentary sherry decanter and the quality toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and although the evening menu was a bit limited (they'd had a very busy day in the restaurant) we really enjoyed our meal. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

Moreton-in-Marsh is well-located for an exploration of the Cotswolds. We stayed for four nights. The service at the Redesdale Arms was excellent, from booking over the phone, to reasonable nightly rates. Our room could have used a little updating, but it was clean and large enough for our family of four. The food was excellent at dinner, but the food was extremely slow coming out of the kitchen. Breakfast was buffet style and good. Overall, highly recommended.

Stayed for 2 nights while touring around the UK. This place was recommended by an Australian friend living in London. Great location, delicious food, quiet rooms and fantastic helpful staff (Thank you Terri). Next door to a lovely cheese shop selling some nice French cheese & baguettes. We ordered a packed picnic lunch from the Redesdale Arms and set off for a day of walking through the Cotswolds. There is also a laundromat close to the hotel - bonus for travellers who've been travelling for a few days. For £10, we dropped our laundry there in the morning and picked it up later that afternoon washed, dried and folded. Lovely town and lovely people! Ate at the pub the first night which was delicious, and the Bangladesh restaurant down the road was superb on our second night in the town.
