If you're looking for a quiet romantic break in the Cotswolds, then this is probably not the place for you. But if you want comfortable accommodation, excellent service and food of a high standard, then this definitely fits the bill.
From the outside it looks like one of those super market-town finds, all Cotswold stone, real ales and hearty meals. Once inside it's modern, slate floor and mirror tiles. From the start, the service is impeccable. The rooms (we stayed in room 16) are royally appointed, with queen size bed, super bathoom, even a decanter of sherry.
Dinner was great. Pricey but not overpriced for what we got. The place was busy, but waiting staff attentive and not overstretched. Super breakfast, to send us on our way.
All in all a good experience. Only dropped one star for a) limited onsite parking, b) creaky upstairs floorboards, c) rather charmless outdoor decking in the courtyard.
