We ate here on a Friday night mid-August. Glad we booked because it was very busy. This was reflected in the slightly slow service, but once the food arrived it was excellent and pretty good value. Would recommend.. But Book Ahead

Ok so the jollyswagman is sitting a little on the fence with this one. A lovely restaurant friendly staff good service, but now here's the pthing, you see the thing is.There seems to be a generic thing going on with the curry gravy, All meals are bright orange and no change in flavour. We have had take away, madras pathia jalfrazi all looked and tasted the same so we tried a sit in, fish curry and chicken curry looked and tasted the same. Although taste was pretty good, there was very little variation in taste and depth of spice. We still have yet to find a better curry than a chicken jaflong at the ArdenTandoori, Henly in Arden, Warwickshire

We moved to the area 2 years ago from London my partner being Anglo Indian we have been fortunate to have eaten in London s finest.
Veerasuamys, Chutney Mary,
La Porte des Indes to name but a few.
We have been recommended to various Indian Restaurants in the Cotswolds always leaving bitterly disappointed after a mediocre meal.
I was recommended here a couple of weeks ago so decided to do the 25 mile round trip and order a take away. It was easy to park and when entering the premises I was greeted by three smiling waiters and was treated as if I was their very best customer! I was offered a complimentary drink whilst perusing the menu( which was very extensive).Food was delicious.
Decided to go back last night with my 9 and 10 year old daughters and eat in the restaurant. We hadn't booked and the restaurant was busy but didn't have to wait long. Again the service was truly wonderful attentive very friendly(not contrived) so much so my 9 yr old commented on it. We had had lunch at "Jamie's Italian" in Cheltenham the service was sooo bad it was farcical ! Served by sullen students who obviously didnt want to be there.
We ordered chicken korma which was tasty and flavoursome the chef made me something 'off menu' chicken tomatoes coriander highly spiced DELICIOUS!
Thank you guys keep up the good work we will definitely be back.

This visit was a wonderful experience, from the moment we arrived until we left.We were warmly welcomed by the staff and although we hadn't booked and there were six of us we shown to a table within minutes. There was no rush in ordering we were given popadoms to eat while we chose our main meals and being helped by very friendly staff to make sure we didn't over order or have it to spicy. The food was excellent as was the service and to top it off we asked to have a drink on the house which finished the evening off perfectly.Overall I can't speak to highly of our evening at the Spice rooms.
