“Nice Place to Stay”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

The rooms were quirky and comfortable, the location was nice but not in the middle of Moreton-In-Marsh, and the breakfasts were good with a great bowl of fruit to start. The house smells of smoke as other reviews have pointed out, but the rooms don't smell, so if you don't mind the smell of smoke in the entryway, and a bit of dust in the corners of the room, then Fosseway Farms is a great deal, certainly cheaper than many other places in Moreton-In-Marsh, and very easy to stay in if you don't have a car but still want to explore the Cotswolds.

This B & B was excellent and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the owners were very pleasant and friendly and lots of little extras in the room such as cotton buds, a first aid kit, a bowl of sweets, even an air freshener spray in the toilet shows their attention to detail to provide a comfortable stay. There was no smell of cigarette smoke as mentioned in previous reviews. We were concerned at rumours that the establishment was closing, as we had stayed there a number of times before and will again in the future, but were assured that this is not the case in the forseeable future.

good points, fabulous breakfast with mountains of fresh fruit salad and excellent full english, decanter of port and bottles of wine in the lounge for guests free of charge, bowls of chocolates to graze on, whilst watching TV in the lounge we were brought a big bowl of savory crisps, very decent sized family room, quirky decor throughout (my gran would love it), 5 minute walk into Moreton, nice patio, clean beds toilet and shower, campsite at the rear
bad points, overpowering smell of cigarette smoke (although our family room did not smell at all), on the busy main road into Moreton which you have to walk down to get into town, not too clean in some places mainly due to the choice of decor I think, (padded fabric mirror thing in the bathroom which was home to a family of spiders), open doors between public and owners private areas (this was a real issue in the lounge where the owners chain smoked in their lounge next door.

Breakfast is nice. Spacious room, but not at all clean. Dust and spiderwebs (including the spiders). Shower and toilet not clean and old. Entire house is smelling like cigarets. Really extremely noisy. Paperthin walls. Unfriendly, grumpy people. Next to petrol station at the border of town.

We recently camped for one night at Fosseway farm. £7.50 per person and the dog stayed for free.
It was adequate for a one night stop. The shower block was clean, with plenty of hot water, however it was a shock that it was communal and contained just one shower and two toilets for the whole campsite. Other facilities found in the small shower block included a washing machine, a kitchen sink, two basins and a drinking water tap. There was plenty of room to pitch on the campsite. The person who greeted us was pleasant.
It was ideally located for trips around the Cotswolds. The town centre was a ten minute walk.
Ok for a cheap and cheerful brief visit to Moreton in Marsh.

We ended up here as part of a tour and found it to be lacking. The location is terrible---sandwiched between an Esso Station and an RV park way outside of the town center. So you do not get any of the quaint Cotswold's ambiance here. The rooms were adequate but not great. The owners are a rather odd bunch and one of them is a chain smoker, which you can smell everywhere.

Owners obviously smoke though guests not permitted. Wifi unreliable . Breakfast good . Man answered door with a handful plastic bags for our walking boots before he said anything ! On edge of town so not ideal. generally the 4 hosts have no personality though have been publicans for 40 years !
