The decor is tired and shabby - dirty even - and unimaginative. The staff seem dispirited and permanently unhappy. The menu is mediocre. The lighting is grim. This should be a great pub, lovely old building, great gardens, oak beams - it's got the lot. But it will need a lot of tender loving care and a hefty investment to put this sad misery back on its feet. Great potential though if someone with experience and imagination took it on - Moreton is absolutely desperate for a good gastro pub. And this could easily be the one.
