Me and my husband stayed with our 2 dogs in August. The cottage is beautiful, location is great, nicely secluded while close enough to walk to Painswick village for food & drink. The views where lovely & lots of beautiful walks leading directly from the front door. My only criticism would be that the house shares a garden with a relatives house, is not enclosed & has a chicken coop. This was fine for us but as the house is dog friendly, we had to keep them on the lead. We specifically searched for a house which was detached so the dogs could enjoy the freedom of the garden & the photos suggest this. Although this was not much of an issue, I do think it should be in the description.
This is a great place to stay, stunning views over the beautifully maintained garden and surrounding area. The cottage itself has been done to an exceptional standard with everything that you could wish for and a well thought out welcome pack including a very nice home made sponge cake and some eggs from the owners hens.
Painswick itself is a lovely town with some decent eating places within walking distance, (we were a little disappointed with The Falcon but really enjoyed Cardynham House Bistro). The walking in the surrounding areas is nice with a trip to the Beacon and it's amazing views a must.
The cottage is a good base for visiting many of the local towns and villages and the owners living next door are welcoming, helpful and available. Generally couldn't ask for better.
