We wanted a short stay in a hotel that was dog friendly. The Falcon was perfect for this - great location close to loads of walks, and opposite from the green space at the church for the early morning/ late evening ablution-related canine requirements. There is a dog-friendly section of the pub, but it isn't separated away from everyone else so you don't lose out on the atmosphere. The rooms are clean and tidy - though we are used to a King sized bed, and found the double rather small. The breakfasts were delicious - my one reservation is that the quality of the food in the evening does not match the price (eg, £13 for macaroni cheese with a few flecks of smoked haddock, or in my partners case - vegetables boiled until they had turned grey) - though in general, this whole area is hugely overpriced in terms of eating out. The staff are very friendly, and make a fuss of the dog, and are very accommodating in dealing with requests.
