“Cozy, warm, contemporary and friendly”
Reviewed 15 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

We stayed here for three days with our dog and we loved it. The studio is nicely designed and very comfortable: L-shape sofa to chill out reading or watching TV after a walk, a compact kitchen to prepare breakfast or simple meals, a good size dining table... Our favourite feature was the underfloor heating, which allowed us to walk barefeet and stay warm while it was literally snowing outside!
The bathroom is modern and the shower spacious and comfortable, and the mezzanine level for the bed is a very nice space. So, we were very happy with our choice of accommodation! Also, Sara the host is very nice and helpful, and gave us good tips on local sightseeing and restaurants. The location itself is really nice, as you can walk to several restaurants if you don't want to drive for dinner, but it is also a good base to explore by car other parts of The Cotswolds. Also, you can enjoy wonderful countryside walks literally from your doorstep. We'll definitely be back!

“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 25 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed here end of March 2016 (sorry the delay in writing).
We were greeted by Sara who was more than willing to tell us what to visit and where to eat and couldn't have been more helpful. The studios themselves was a converted barn and done very cleverly to a high spec and we felt at home straight away as did our dog Cockapoo who was allowed to stay with us.
The village was lovely and we didn't need to leave it to be honest for the few days that we were there. Had some lovely walks. Came back after dinner to find that Sara had even cleaned our muddy boots and trainers (now that's what I call a good host)

We also forgot our camera lead and she was kind enough to post it back to us for free.

Highly recommend mayfield!

Thanks for the stay!

“Beautiful apartment in pretty Cotswold village”
Reviewed 24 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed here for 3 nights and would thoroughly recommend Mayfield Studio. Sara, the owner, lives in the adjacent house and provided absolutely everything we needed. We arrived to find everything provided for breakfast - eggs, milk, fresh bread, jams, honey, fresh orange juice, cereals and fresh fruit. The kitchen is small but perfectly possible to cook a simple meal. Go to the Woolpack pub in Slad (where Laurie Lee wrote Cider With Rosie) and you won't need much else to eat! Really good shower, comfortable bed and all furnished in a combination of retro and modern with a lot of style. The studio was very clean and fresh towels were provided during our stay.
The studio is down a quiet, twisty lane but Sara let us to park in her driveway. She couldn't have been more helpful and even dried off our wet clothes after we got caught in the rain.
Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

We were welcomed by Sara on arrival and made to feel at home.
The studio is beautifully furnished and decorated and made an excellent base to
tour around this lovely part of the country.
Off road parking was good and walked into village to eat in the evening.

“What's not to love? Absolutely nothing! Fabulous, boutique weekend escape.”
Reviewed 1 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We had the perfect weekend escape in Sara's studio and I highly recommend a stay here.

The kingside bed was very comfortable with high quality bedding and I loved the unique style of the studio too.

It is a quick scenic walk to the lovely pubs, beautiful church, shops and restaurants of delightful Painswick and equally very easy to drive to lots of other Cotswolds villages. After a day of exploring Bourton-on-Water, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Stow on Wold, Bibury etc I couldn't wait to return to the cosiness of the studio and Painswick/Mayfield studio will be my preferred choice when visiting the Cotswolds again.

Not only is the studio excellently located and very well thought out in terms of guests' comfort (games to play, DVDs to watch , a wealth of exploring information, luxurious rainfall shower and just overall great space), Sara is also an amazing host. We were welcomed with wine, beer, fruit, delicious homemade chutney (amongst other treats) and she went above and beyond in providing items for a satisfying vegan breakfast (so if you are vegan/vegetarian this is a great choice too).

We felt very relaxed after our short stay and reluctant to return to London (which took less than three hours drive). Next time I would opt to spend the day walking and exploring around the more local area with a few pub stops along the way!
Thank you for an excellent weekend x

“Wonderful Place to Stay - Just Perfect”
Reviewed 1 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We have just had a fabulous weekend at Mayfield Studio and couldn't fault it in any way, Sara made us feel most welcome and was so helpful and kind. Such a beautiful relaxing place to stay with lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. It rained all weekend but going back to Mayfield to dry off and relax with a glass of wine was delightful. A real gem and we would highly recommend it.

P.S. It is the cleanest holiday rental we have ever stayed in :)

“Perfect spot for a relaxing break”
Reviewed 28 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We really enjoyed our four night stay in Painswick. The apartment was very comfortable and beautifully presented. Sara was so welcoming and made us feel right at home - nothing was too much trouble. The food supplies provided for us made for a most delicious breakfast every morning. After a few weeks travelling around the UK this was the perfect spot for us to relax and explore the beautiful local area.
