“Mediocre and overpriced.”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

We went to the White Hart Stow with my parents and toddle daughter on Saturday 8 Feb and being new to the area tried the pub on local recommendation. I really wish we hadn't.

The food was mediocre at best and unbelievably overpriced as a result. However the worst part was the attitude of one of the female staff members (or even owner) who it seems couldn't wait for us to get out of there, pointedly asking if we were done with the highchair before we had even been served our food whilst moving it away and moving our coats away from where we had been sitting "in case anyone else wanted to sit there" - the pub was practically empty.

She was cold, unfriendly and made the whole experience deeply unpleasant.

I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

“A great place for lunch!”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

We had lunch here on a Saturday. We ate in the restaurant at the back of the building. It was excellent. The décor is both stylish and cosy. The service was very good and the food and wine reasonably priced. We had a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio for £16.00. The location is perfect - right on the square in Stow-on-the-Wold. We will go back next time we're in Stow.

“One of the best 'gastro' style pubs Ive been to!”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

Really Fabulous cozy pub in the centre of Stowe on the Wold. Fantastic wine selection, lovely bar man and seriuosly good food!
We had a salmon salad which had proper smoked salmon and capers with bread and butter, a tasty risotto and I think a lamb shank for mains. Great dessert and cheesboard too. Highly reccommend this place if you are in the area.

“AMAZING - you simply have to try it!”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

The chef is a genius! The food is tasty such good quality. The menu has so many yummy dishes you will want to try them all. In particular we would recommend Battered scallops with chilli oil, Braised Ox cheek (outstanding!) and the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Chocolate Brownie
