“A good place to eat?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014

Not if everywhere else within 50 miles is closed and you're not in the least bit concerned about the quality, quantity of the food they dish up or the standard of service.
We had a family lunch - there were 20 of us - here last Saturday. We'd booked months in advance and made our food choices 2 weeks before.

Everyone in one in our party thought that the food quality was of a poor standard and the portions meagure for the price. My son in law ordered a medium sirloin steak (£19.50) with "blue cheese butter" (£1 extra) and a small salad. He said the steak was overcooked (well done) and the blue cheese butter was just a small knob of butter dolloped ontop[.
I ordered ham, eggs and chips (£9.50) which I think was expensive for what was served (3 thin slices an egg and a few chips served in a fancy little bucket). Was it what I ordered yes, was it worth the money definitely not. Would I go back - after hell has frozen over; would I recommend it to others - not a chance.
This place all about style and location over substance. If you find yourself in Stow and want somethiung to eat (or stay) find somewhere else. This place sucks.

Great restaurant with a relaxed pub atmosphere.

The service was efficient and attentive and food was well presented and tasted great.

Recommended.

“Mediocre and overpriced.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 February 2014

We went to the White Hart Stow with my parents and toddle daughter on Saturday 8 Feb and being new to the area tried the pub on local recommendation. I really wish we hadn't.

The food was mediocre at best and unbelievably overpriced as a result. However the worst part was the attitude of one of the female staff members (or even owner) who it seems couldn't wait for us to get out of there, pointedly asking if we were done with the highchair before we had even been served our food whilst moving it away and moving our coats away from where we had been sitting "in case anyone else wanted to sit there" - the pub was practically empty.

She was cold, unfriendly and made the whole experience deeply unpleasant.

I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

“A great place for lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2014

We had lunch here on a Saturday. We ate in the restaurant at the back of the building. It was excellent. The décor is both stylish and cosy. The service was very good and the food and wine reasonably priced. We had a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio for £16.00. The location is perfect - right on the square in Stow-on-the-Wold. We will go back next time we're in Stow.

Had lunch in here today with my family and it was wonderful. From great service to delicious food with lovely decor and warming log fires inbetween!
Cant wait to go back.
