“Always very good”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Had a very nice meal once again in the Queens Head. Visiting from London we aren’t new to Stow & always eat at this pub at least once during our stay. Proper pub grab. Large portions always delicious & good value. Great ambience, lovely friendly staff. This is a pub used by the locals & appears to be one of the only ‘proper’ pubs left in this area

“Amazing RibEye Steak!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Stopped off at The Queen's head on our way home from the Spa at Dormy House and what a treat.
A very traditional pub, very welcoming and dog friendly.
We were warned that there was a short wait for food but boy was it worth it. We had the rib eye steak each and it had to be one of the best we have eaten in a long time! Locally sourced from Mickleton we were told. The chef cooked it to perfection and it was so very flavoursome. The chips, mushrooms, onion rings were all tastily but not needed really as the steak was so good. Accompanied with a good old pint of ale, it was a tasty end to a lovely day.
If you are passing through or visiting Stow, a stop for lunch or dinner at this homely pub is a must. Our compliments to the chef and staff!

“Sunday Lunch with proper food!!”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

If you want a proper Sunday lunch with no frozen vegetables, roasties or Yorkshire puddings then this is definitely the place to go to. The food is excellent, proper home cooked food, at a reasonable price with friendly staff and atmosphere. Its a proper friendly pub with affordable prices which definitely goes a long way in the Cotswolds. We have had Sunday lunches at many places in this area and this is by far the best in every way.

“Lovely old fashioned English pub with good food!”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Stow-on-the-Wold is a beautiful little town and we decided to visit the Queens Head pub one night during our stay in the Cotswolds. We have 2 dogs and they were very welcome in the pub. In fact, they had their own resident dog ambling about the pub. The food there was of very good quality (I can highly recommend the fish pie!), presented well, and all four of us enjoyed our meals. The decor was lovely.....very traditional Olde English pub style. It was also very busy with both tourists and locals which is always a good sign. We will definitely return when we visit again next year.

“Very good pub grub”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Had a rather delicious broccoli and cheese bake at this pub. It was really well cooked and piping hot - just as I like. My husband had the meat pie with suet pastry. He liked it very much but it was more like a steak pudding and not a pie. Should have realised when it said suet pastry. Even so he still enjoyed it. The place had a warm and friendly atmosphere and we would both go back when we visit the area again. Everything was very reasonably priced and very good value for money.
