“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed 15 July 2011

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night break at this lovely hotel. The spotless rooms are furnished to a high standard and the beds are extremely comfortable. The food was excellent - plentiful, well cooked and beautifully served breakfasts. The dining room has a very relaxing atmosphere and the evening meals were also very good indeed.
In addition, The Number Four at Sow is very well placed for all the delightful villages and towns of the Cotswolds which made sightseeing all the easier as we didn't have to travel miles to visit such places as Bourton on the Water, Broadway, Upper and Lower Slaughter, etc. Not forgetting Stow on the Wold itself which is less than a mile away from the hotel.
All in all, an very pleasant stay and I wouldn't hesitated in recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a base to explore this charming area.

We stayed here for 2 nights, great hotel, you really do need a car to get there as there is only a busy road outside and no shops for at least 15 minute walk.
everyone was lovely and helpful.

A warm welcome awaits at Number Four. The public areas are clean and our bedroom was lovely. All the staff were very attentive and well mannered. Dinner was a pleasant experience, unhurried and relaxing. The food was excellent and the DBB deal was well worth having. We were impressed. Two other comments to make - the road is like a race track outside so take care; secondly, the lounge bar needs background music to enhance the atmosphere as you wait to go through to dinner. Thank you Number Four.

Room Tip: DBB was only £25 more per person which turned out to be excellent value. Don't waste your time l...

I booked this to take my wife away for the weekend to celebrate her birthday (after reading the great reviews on Trip advisor. It had a lot to live up to - and I'm delighted to say it more than did. The staff were the friendliest I've ever met (they seemed so happy and keen to help all the time). Our room was spotless. We had a meal at the restaurant the first evening (great qualilty food) and the same quality for breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. The one very minor point is that the bedroom was relatively small - it was absoluteky fine for us, but didn't give the wow factor. In short - we loved it and would highly recommend it - in fact, we have.

If you're looking for a hotel with excellent attentive staff, beautiful decor and amazing value for money then stay here. The rooms are very clean and the food is also exceptional. Our evening meal was like something from Masterchef! Location wise its great and the car park is massive. We really enjoyed it here.

We stayed for a short weekend break in the Cotswolds. Number Four is well placed to visit all of the Cotswolds and beyond. The room was impeccable with everything that you would need, the large bed very comfortable and everything spotlessly clean. There was a sitting room attached to the bedroom with comfortable sofa, armchair and TV.
The staff were friendly and helpful. you should visit Number 4 just for the restaurant alone, even if you don.t have the time to stay. The food is superb and the service is to match.
The hotel is at a junction in two roads and set in large grounds with plenty of parking.
We hope to be back!
