A friend and I found a room at Stow at the last minute, we were lucky as it was a great find! Feels quite new because everything was very fresh and clean. Top marks for individual duvets, complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water, delicious puddings (we had eaten out but couldn't resist when we returned), very helpful and friendly staff and a perfect English Breakfast. Would definitely book again.

Room Tip: We had a room closest to the road so early morning traffic slowing and accelerating at the lights ju...

We greatly enjoyed our time at Number Four on the Stow. It was a last minute decision to stay and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. We were traveling with a 6 month old and the staff were more than accommodating. The restaurant was also a delightful experience - we enjoyed our dinner the evening we stayed and our breakfast the following morning. Our room was clean and they even had some stuffed toy animals, a change pad and a beautiful blanket for our son ready on our arrival. In fact, the morning after we stayed, they had a table set for us in the restaurant with the high chair all ready to go. We would highly recommend this hotel for any family traveling in the area.

Room Tip: Our room had two big sky lights to let a lot of light in despite the grey, rainy weather.

I booked Number Four based upon the TA reviews which were all excellent. It didn't disappoint! My boyfriend and I stayed here over the bank holiday and decided to upgrade to a suite. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with stunning decor and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were superb with a smile and chat whenever you saw them. The suite was beauriful and if I had one little niggle, it's that there is no mirror to sit and dry hair/apply make up. You either have to stand in the bathroom or use the kettle plug! However, that was a small price to pay for the standard and quality of the hotel.

We ate in Cutlers restaruant and were blown away. I'm a vegetarian and although there was only one main course option on the menu, it was beauriful and there were plenty of starters to choose from.. My boyfriend had the Eton mess for dessert and claims it is the best pud he has ever had! The service was fantastic and it was lovely to be able to walk back to our room without thinking about taxis etc.

I was astonished at breakfast by the amount of peoplke there as the hotel was so quiet. You can usually hear people wandering up and down the corridor but we didn't hear a thing and slept like babies in the gorgeous bed! Breakfast again did not disappoint and although we were fairly late getting down (5 mins before they stopped serving) we were not rushed and they kept bringing tea and toast without a scowl!

This is not the cheapest hotel in the area by a long stretch, but if you want a treat then choose Number Four - it was a fantastic experience!

Room Tip: We had suite 201 which had stunning views over the fields the back of the hotel and was very quiet

This was a perfect last minute retreat, very understated on the web site, the pictures don't do the property justice!

A warm, professional welcome by Anne. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with tea, coffee and in addition bottles of water.
The bedding was crisp and the bed comfortable, the room was modern and tastefully decorated.

Number Four at Stow was fully air conditioned, a delight for the time of year.

A nice touch were the toiletries, BeeKind products, shampoo, conditioner, body/shower wash and body lotion.

We enjoyed pre dinner drinks at the bar, where we made comfortable and welcomed by Caroline and Karen. We were given a menu to look over and Brian Cutler, after who the restaurant is named came and said hello and discussed the menu, this was a real personal touch and made us feel excited about dinner.

The order was taken in the bar area, another nice touch. In our own time we were shown through to the restaurant. The atmosphere was calm, intimate and relaxing, candles, dim lighting and unobtrusive service. The restaurant was simple and elegant.

Dinner was DELICIOUS, well paced and professional. The produce is sourced locally, again a really nice touch and helping to sustain the local economy.

After dinner we sat in the bar area and enjoyed the company of the staff and fellow guests alike. Karen the hotel manager was charming and engaging, she made us feel like family. We went to bed feeling content, warm and fuzzy!

Great nights sleep.

Breakfast was unsurprisingly fantastic, my favourite Bircher Muesli! A great combination of continental and cooked fare available.

Why did we only stay one night!!!!!!!

Number Four at Stow is outstanding in terms of food, accommodation and service. We know our stuff! This hotel has it!

We will definitely be visiting again and recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, we haven't stopped talking about our stay to friends and family.

We asked about having a venue here and Caroline was extremely helpful in suggesting arrangements and what they can do to make it a perfect occassion.

Thank you, you have a business you should be extremely proud of. We were very impressed.

We thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend in this delightful small hotel earlier this month. Our room on the ground floor was lovely - very clean, with exceptionally comfortable beds, and a very useful fridge. Breakfast was excellent and all staff were extremely welcoming and charming. Whilst we were there, the weather was good and we enjoyed a few hours sitting outside, relaxing with a cold drink and a few magazines. The views across neighbouring fields are stunning and the grounds of the hotel are beautifully maintained. We hope to return!

Our visit was a spontaneous one and we were not disappointed. Whilst our find was because we had been sitting at a set of traffic lights and saw that there were vacancies, the position of the hotel on the main road had no impact on us. All the bedrooms are away from the main road and overlook beautiful fields. The food was amazing and the staff couldn't have made us feel more welcome. It was just a shame that the weather was so awful that it meant that everywhere was quiet! We are definitely recommending to friends and family.

Room Tip: Worth booking in advance as I would imagine that they get busy.
