“Very nice Hotel in a lovely location”
Reviewed 12 August 2011

Was here for a friends wedding and the Hotel was very nice. The room we had was great, the bed was proper King size and the room itself very spacious.
We loved the grounds and the heated smoking area out the back.
All in all very good hotel and we wioll return without hesitation

Beautiful hotel in amazing surroundings. The facilities are great, treated like royalty.
So many nice finishes and touches. I was there for a wedding and would highly recommend it. Most comfiest bed in the world - I wish I could spend a day in bed!

Simply, I love it!!

Got the hotel on a special package including afternoon tea, evening 3 course meal and b&b. Location is a bit out of Stowe so you need a taxi at night if you want to go out there. But we found no need as everything was so nice for our 1 night stay. Cream tea was the best ever and we ate in a lovely outdoor chill-out area. Evening meal served in a beautiful conservatory with stunning views. Room was lovely with it's own patio to sunbathe. Breakfast was equally good. Went to the Dial House in Bourton on the Water on the Sunday for afternoon tea and it was total rubbish!

My husband and I booked this hotel last minute for a night away - what a wonderful experience from start to finish. When I rang the hotel to check availability Amy was cheerful, and most helpful in describing all the available rooms to me. On arrival we were greated in the car park by Steve who escorted us to reception and then to our room.

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a lovely patio and seating area where we could admire the views. We had cream tea admiring the views from the patio area of the hotel and again all staff were very attentive and helpful.

We had our evening meal in the hotel retaurant and were greated by Andrew on arrival and shown to our table, we requested if an available table by the window could be made up and Bridgette did this with a smile on her face not an issue at all. The restaurant manager John Griffiths was one of the most prefessional we have come across with just the right amount of attention at just the right time - even leaving us to finish our conversation when he realised we were deep in discussion. Andrew the wine waiter again provided just the right level of care and attention and asked if there was anything else he could get us.

Not forgetting of course the chef(s) who produced the most wonderful scones for our high tea and beautifully presented excellent evening meal wonderful.

All in all a great experience the team at Wyck Hill House Hotel and Spa are a credit to the company and we will certainly return again.

Wyck Hill House is perfectly situated in the heart of the Cotswolds sitting as it does out in the countryside between Stow on the Wold and Bourton on Water.

The Trip Advisor map is incorrect, as it shows the Hotel is situated in the centre of Stow on the Wold. This is not the case. Wyck Hill House lays back off the main A424 Burford to Stow road, about 3-4 miles outside Stow. Very easy to find, you can't miss it, just look for the flags marking the entrance.

A really impressive hotel, surrounded by woodland, staff very friendly and helpful. Food and wine a trifle pricey, but very nice.

We stayed in the Orangery part of the hotel, and had a splendid room, with our own small patio which opened up onto a neat grassy area. Ideal if you have a smoker in tow, as the rooms are all non smoking.

On the subject of smoking, the hotel has a "smoking area" by the Bar, which is the best designed I have ever seen. No lean-to / bus shelter type structure here, but a splendid building, which must meet all the appropriate legislation, with comfortable furniture in which even a non smoking partner can feel comfortable.

Not the cheapest Hotel in the area by any means, but well worth splashing our for a special break.

Room Tip: If booking a room in the Orangery, and you want a room with a patio ask for 47 48 or 49. Rooms 46 &a...
