If you would like a romantic stay away, this might not be the hotel for you! My partner and I had just checked in the hotel and were getting ready to go down for dinner, when the maid unlocked the door and was coming into our room whilst we werent half decent! A half hearted apology was made when i spoke to reception about the incident. The Food is beautiful when the waiters get it right as they are limited in their understanding of English! Dont leave your windows open in the evenings as the staff have no problem with being very loud at 1 o'clock so you may not get a full nights sleep! When I complained about my issue, the receptionist didnt seem interested/no comphensation was offfered. For the money i paid i wasnt impressed.

Stayed a night during our visit to the Cotswold. A beautifully renovated hotel/resort. The assistant gardener was kind enough to help us take photos of us with the lovely surroundings when we were walking around the grounds. Breakfast was yummy.

We invited 40 friends and family to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at Wyck Hill House and it really was very special.

Many of us stayed the night and we had a quite splendid dinner with exceptional service and very fine food, cooked by a brigade that certainly have passion for their art, you can taste it !!.

We were lucky with the weather so pre dinner drinks were on the terrace looking out across the Cotswold countryside and the weather was so good post dinner was out there until the early hours.

The service was unobtrusive, knowledgeable and hospitable. The bedroom was very special and was in the main house and breakfast what you would except of a four star country house. A great weekend and Wyck was JUST IDEAL for such an occasion.

Thanks to the whole team who have got Wyck Hill back to where it should be and that is in 'the special country house catergory' where it belongs.

The most wonderful hotel with extremely courteous and welcoming staff who could not do enough for us. Rooms (Coach House) enormous and luxuriouly appointed. Both dinner and breakfast sublime.
Spa fantastic.

Please don't take any notice of any negative reviews, they nearly put me off booking but so glad I went with my gut feeling. Many of them are pre new owners and refurbishment.
Check out some of the deals they do, extremely good value.

I stayed at Wyck Hill House with family and friends for a surprise birthday treat for my father. Imagine my delight when we were met by polite, friendly and efficient staff, a superb room and wonderful surroundings. The room was impeccably clean and well presented and the communal areas combined contemporary design with elegance that befitted such a lovely location. The breakfast was delicious, and this and afternoon tea were delivered by attentive staff. I cannot fault Wyck Hill House in any way and will be recommending it to friends and family.

Stayed here with my girlfriend recently for romatic weekend will summarise as follows.
Positives
1. Rooms- stayed in the Orange section. Rooms were fairly spacious , bed very comfortable and the other services/amenities in the room were more than adequate (e.g. television shower e.t.c)
2. Food- only had the breakfast admittidly but i had no complaints re the quality of the food or service- it was very English and traditional- staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay (conceirge "Kim" in particular)
3. Location- stones throw from Stow-on-the Wold and Bourton on Water great for long walks, treks and cycling not too far from anywhere else either. Grounds extremely pictoresque (set in over 100 acres).
Negatives
The Spa. Felt this was out of place with the rest of the Hotel felt amaterish. For example the relaxation room was more like a doctors surgery with just a few chairs and magazines. Surely it would not be too difficult to play relaxating music, provide a couple of pillows and burn a few insense candles? there was nothing. Had a full body massage cost £55 for 50 mins- lady was very sweet and informative but the treatment itself didnt wow me at all, particularly disapointing given the price tag. My girfriend (who had a different masseuse) had the very same experience wouldnt have felt so bad if like most spas you can use the other facilities free of charge (e.g. swimming pool/jacuzzi) there simply werent any to speak of- its misleading to call 2 rooms with a table a spa!
Anyway i have laboured the point but overall i would recommend the actual hotel even if just for a visit of its beautiful grounds.
