Stayed at Fosse Manor for an anniversary weekend. Warm, cosy rooms, our room had a great view over the countryside. Friendly and professional staff, the food was amazing and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. It's only a mile from Stow and after a short walk on a grass verge, once you cross the road you get onto a footpath all the way into stow on the Wold.

I stayed in the Fosse Manor Hotel in October for two nights. I found the hotel full of character and very nicely fitted out with a homely and warm atmosphere but not dated, and had a contempory feel about it. I loved the wooden floors in the public areas for example.
The staff were professional and efficient and friendly although not 'gushing'. The service included details such as a waiter carrying your wine glass from the bar to the restaurant for dinner. The food was probably the best aspect of the hotel; the breakfasts good, the dinners outstanding. The bedroom was very comfortable and nicely fitted out although not overly lavish. The en-suite bathroom was enormous and nice touches such as bathrobes were appreciated. Finally the hotel is situated in the midst of the beautiful Cotswold countryside... a lovely experience.

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor are small. The better ones seem to be those on the first floor.

I stayed here in September, having taken advantage of a cheap deal on their website (also on Groupon). However not once were we treated any less than a customer paying full price.
The food was exceptional. I had the Goats Cheese to start, followed by the pork, then the melting middle chocolate pudding. Every course was delicious and would happily eat there again and again, if only it was closer to me! Certainly a treat.
Breakfast was also lovely, and a nice touch to have a selection of newspapers to browse in the morning - makes it feel a really relaxing treat. Cream tea was also yummy !

The room itself was very spacious - I think we were given a family room, which was far too large for our purposes, but no problem. The bathroom was also very well maintained, with a lovely roll top bath, and monsoon shower.

Overall I would heartily recommend.

We stayed at Fosse Manor for two nights during a weekend away to the Cotswolds. On arrival we were told that the room we had resereved had been allocated to someone else, which was a little dissapointing, however these things do happen and he issue was dealt with swiftly. The next morning we had a full apology from the lady who had taken our booking who offered to move us to the room we had booked as soon as it was available the next morning.

The staff in the hotel are very friendly and a have a great attention to detail. Fosse Manor itself is a beautiful building which looked fantastic in the Autumn sun. It is a great base to explore the wider area from too.

We had a lovely dinner in the hotel on the night we arrived and also enjoyed the comprehensive breakfast which included a full cooked breakfast as well as breads, jams and cereal.

Areas for improvement would be the booking system (obviously), also some of the fixtures and fittings need improvement it looks like the much of the place has been rennovated but old door handles etc left in place. Also the walls are thin meaning when doors slam or people talk with raised voices in other rooms it easy to hear them.

Planning a weekend break in the Cotswolds my wife and I checked the reports from Trip Advisor to assist in our choice. The Fosse Manor scored highly and we were not disappointed. A very well appointed room in the annexe was offered and suited us perfectly. peace and quiet at any time of the day. We also had a private patio with views over the surrounding countryside to take advantage of the good weather that weekend. If staying make sure you visit the restaurant where the food and service are excellent.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Fosse Manor, where we had an excellent time. We booked a deluxe room on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis. The room was clean. large and comfortable and it was nice after being out for the day to come back and relax for an hour or so before going down to dinner. We found the staff very friendly & helpful with the hotel geared at just the right level, being smart and comfortable without making you feel you had to be on your best behaviour all the time. Although the hotel generally was excellent, the highest praise must be reserved for the chef and his team. We had two dinners and they were both superb, being cooked to perfection and using the very best quality ingredients. We spent most of the meal enthusing over what each other was eating and most of the next day looking forward to that evenings meal. The wine list was also very good giving a large selection, we chose from the house wine recommendations each evening and were not disapointed.
The hotel is in a very good location being just outside Stow-on-the-Wold, giving you easy access to all of the Cotswolds.
Highly recommended - we will return
