We've just got back from a three night Easter break, in this gorgeous place and I miss it already. The hotel itself is very traditional in style and so warm and cosy. Every where in the hotel is spotlessly clean and all the staff were extremely friendly and the service was excellent. The lounge area was a particular favourite of mine, as it was a lovely place to chill out, after a busy day sightseeing, with a glass of something nice in front of the real fire.

After visiting all of the 'must go to' Cotswold villages and towns, we actually think Stow on the Wold itself was one of the loveliest and the fact that all the shops were open all through the Easter holiday was a bonus. Most of the other towns and villages were closed Easter Sunday, apart from Bourton on the Water.

Unfortunately, we never got a chance to eat dinner in the restuarant (as there were some amazing restaurants in the village we wanted to try) but breakfast was excellent!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 4, as it had the largest bed and a beautiful view of the gardens - and you could j...

I can't fault this hotel - excellent standards, delightful staff, comfiest bed ever. Food and service in the restaurant were top class. Great setting, very calm and relaxing. Copious in room refreshment tray and complimentary toiletries. Wish I could have stayed longer!

We stayed at this hotel For our honeymoon and It was so wonderful Top English breakfast just like. The old English movies. Marmalade , butter in china dishes. Proper tea. And tea , real, tea which tasted just. Tops , the bedroom was so well thought out it was better than my own bedroom , things like the plug was placed just in the perfect position. For the hair dryer the bed was better than. Any rating I could give it I was floating , The bed was Infact so comfortable I askd what sort of mattress it was it was outstanding , I have stayed in many hotels even others in stow before I'd stayed there and I can tell you some hotels have beds that are like sleeping on rocks in your back or they have not been slept in by owners. To test the comfort. The one thing which sets this hotel apart and above is someone has taken a lot trouble to put top quality furnishings in rooms and tested it out. That is why I highly recommend this. Gem of hotel. On top of that the gardens are beautiful. And tended to with loving care. A big thank you. Hope I can stay again soon .

Eight of us dropped in to the hotel for a spot of lunch recently (not pre booked.) Nothing was too much trouble, tables/chairs moved quickly and without fuss. The food was beautifully cooked, my haddock and chips were really delicious- I was wary of ordering fish as I live on the coast and am used to very fresh fish, but my fears were unfounded.
A true case of an establishment concentrating on the important basics and paying attention to those all-important details Congratulations..

This was a first time visit to stay at a family run hotel in Stow, been in the 1960s for a meal but never stayed overnight, now we know what we have been missing.
Booked over the phone confirmation by email , this even gave us the room number so we could then look on the website, great idea.
Checked in room ready, shown to room by very helpful member of staff who explained everything.
Evening meal in the restaurant was excellent value for money, attentive service in a lovely setting, wine list also good value for money and a good selection.
Big joy comfortable residents only lounge, after meal coffee served there , so plenty of conversation held with other guests in front of a roaring log fire.
The added joy for this hotel is the ample residents parking places, not like some other hotels in the area.
The breakfast , was excellent not the now normal help yourself buffet , served at the table, great.
The room we had over looked the church, spotlessly clean, comfortable. The church bells could hardly be heard. You have to be able to manage stairs but this is on the web site so caused no problems.
The garden in the spring was well looked after and I am sure will be well used in warmer weather.

This is a well run traditional hotel that is a gem, most people during our stay repeats and we will be one of them in the future, sorry we left it so long to try, will not make that mistake again.

Well located next to the Church in the village centre with ample parking and lovely gardens, Stow Lodge took my wife and I back to the market town hotels of the 60s and 70's. With a tiny little reception booth, residents' lounge complete with sofas and open fire and deep red patterned carpets throughout, the scene is completed with a traditional dining room restaurant and very friendly personal service.
The bedrooms however have been upgraded to Laura Ashley chic with very clean and bright en suites, comfy beds and soft linen.
Its our sort of place and we look forward to returning.

Room Tip: The Standard (Coach House) Rooms are a bit small and back on to the busy through road at the rear.
