Description: We are an owner operated traditional tearoom. Much of our menu is made here on the premises, including Soups, Dressings, Sauces, Jams and of course all of our cakes and scones. We make everything from basic ingredients, not pre prepared mixes. Our coffee and tea is Fairtrade. The coffee is freshly ground and we use loose leaf tea, with the exception of herbal teas.We aim to source our produce locally as we believe in supporting local suppliers where possible. We also provide a wide selection of Gluten Free meals, including homemade Gluten Free scones, so a cream tea can be had by everyone!Vegetarian options are always available. We are visited by many customers time and time again, along with strong support from locals who live in the town. Regular hours are 10am to 4.00Pm (5pm Saturdays). Please note we are closed on Sundays and Thursdays. Do ring to check if you are coming from a distance. Bookings for tables is welcomed and often necessary to guarantee a table. Parties catered for.

Visited The Old Bakery Tearooms because of their high rating on TripAdvisor. It's kind of hidden away at the back of a shopping center, so there's no windows to the outside. But, it just feels cozy. It was fairly busy for 2:00 in the afternoon, but we didn't have trouble getting a table.

My husband and I each had cream tea and it was delicious! The scones are the hugest I have ever seen and you can tell they are lovingly homemade. The tea was great as well; you pour the water over the loose-leaf tea which seems to keep it fresher. We ended up taking one scone back to our cottage with us to have for breakfast the next morning. Highly recommend this place!

Hello The_Joneses
We're pleased that you managed to find us and enjoyed your homemade scones - the clotted cream is good too! Its encouraging that you also visited some of the other quality eating places in the town during your visit - we are very blessed as a town to have great choices. We hope that you enjoyed your visit to the UK and look forward to seing you again. With our best wishes Alan & Jackie

Having read all the good reviews, we went here in August 2012, and couldn't believe this was the same place ! The owner seemed paranoid and irritable, and was certainly not a welcoming host who put customers at their ease. The place was cramped, with very dated crockery and decor, and there were no windows or natural light, so it felt dark and stuffy. Our coffee wasn't good, the scones were dry, and the home made jam appeared to have no fruit in it. I'm sorry, but this was not the lovely tearoom we were expecting.

Hi Azahar11
Thank you for your comments. I'm truly sorry that you were disappointed with your visit. We try very hard to be aware of the temperature / atmosphere within the tearoom and in August the front door would be open and the large skylight window also. However, we take your comments on board and would be pleased to welcome you back. Many thanks. Alan & Jackie.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Stow on the Wold and we stumbled upon this great tea room. It was hard to find but well worth persisting. My wife must have gluten free food and they were more than helpful. She ended up eating herself silly with delicious gluten free food (homemade quiche and gluten free scones homemade) My sandwich was alo fantastic and the service was reliable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this tea room to anyone travelling the Cotswolds.

Hi Andrew W
Glad that you found us - we are well signed but not necessarily a place that you naturally walk past - so reputaion is important to us as well as ensuring that we look after our guests well. We notice a greater number of people needing a gluten free diet ad much of our menu is suitable - as your wife discovered! See you again soon hopefully. Best wishes
