“wonderful and relaxing vacation in the heart of cotswold”
Reviewed 30 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The cottage is perfectly equipped for family vacation, nice and comfortable. It´s perfectly located for walks through beautiful landscape and for excursions to places of interest.

“Home away from home”
Reviewed 5 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This was a lovely cottage. It was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need for cooking, eating and sleeping as if you were in your own home. There were also nice touches which we didn't expect, a vase of cut flowers, some milk in the fridge and a packet of biscuits welcomed us. They even provided washing up, laundry and dishwasher detergent so it was all very convenient.

This cute cottage is located in an ideal spot to see the Cotswolds. One mile from Stow on Wold, this is remote but close to that lovely historic town. If you like to go on long walks, this is perfect. We set off from lower Swell to the Slaughters and then to Burton on Water before returning. A nine mile walk through picturesque country side replete with sheep, vast fields and fresh air.

The cottage is lovely and a perfect size for out family of four. The children shared a nice size room and there was even an extra bed and more floor space if you need it.

The master room was spacious, but the bed wasn't comfortable and gave us aching back due to the springs. We used extra bedding and comforters to help on night two but it still wasn't perfect. If you have a sensitive back bring sleeping bags, blow up mattress or extra comforter. If you are less fussy than we are () then this place is going to be fine.

The ground floor has a little family room with basic Sky channels and a wood burning stove. Great place to relax after a long walk! There is a kitchen and dining room if you need them.

Management Response

Thank you for your review and I am glad that you liked the cottage. I am sorry that the bed did not suit you. The beds are medium firm as we felt that would suit most people.

“Clean, cosy and in the heart of the Cotswolds.”

This property is warm, spacious and well equipped. In the cottage there are local maps and guides to local attractions. A selection of books and games for children. Dvds and tv if you have the time watch. A small but what appears to be a sun trap of a garden, as well as a lovely conservatory to relax in.
Appletree Cottage is situated in a quiet cul de sac, In the heart of the Cotswold's. It is very well situated for touring the area, only 1 mile from the delightful Stow on the Wold. Lower Swell Village is nice for a stroll around and there are numerous paths and ways that pass through it.

“Spacious and charming cottage”
Reviewed 2 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Located just outside Stow On The Wold this cottage has plenty of room and is very well equipped and ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. In the summer the outside furniture would be a bonus for sitting and relaxing. Not much in the village but a Tesco within 2 Miles and a local pub within walking distance which serves food ( not tried).
