“Home away from Home”
Reviewed 30 September 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The house was so comfortable and had everything we needed for the week. Parking was convenient and undercover and on arrival there was a lovely cake and pretty flowers on the table. There was a tollet downstairs as well as an upstairs bathroom which was very convenient. There are two bedrooms, but there is also a study with a single fold out sofa bed which we used for an overnight guest. It was a comfortable bed but our guest needed to bring her own sheets and blankets, although bedding is supplied with the main bedrooms. The view over the countryside was beautiful and the location was among other houses and very quiet off the main road. I would stay there again.

“Wonderful break”
Reviewed 10 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Had a fabulous stay at crooked beams. Beautiful property with absolutely everything in it your heart desires from a lovely garden to a wonderful log fire. We had a thoroughly great time at many of the Cotwold villages and especially Stow-in -the -Wold which was only a 10min stroll away . I would strongly recommend this cottage to anyone who would like to be at the centre of the Cotswolds in a beautiful setting. If I had one small negative thing to say- it was that the shower could be more powerful-but overall I cannot say that this was a major issue. Well done to Alisoun who was so helpful during our stay.

“A Perfect Cottage”
Reviewed 30 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Crooked Beams has everything you could wish for in a country cottage. It is comfortable, well located in Stow on the Wold, ,and is quiet . There is somewhere to put the car and has a dishwasher, wifi and washing machine. Alisoun left a nice cake and flowers on the table for our arrival. It was just like staying in a home, not a holiday house. It was an easy walk into Stow where there are interesting shops and plenty of choice in places to eat. The neightbours were friendly and happy to talk to us.

“The perfect cottage”

My friend and I stayed for 2 weeks in this great cottage. Every aspect of the cottage was perfect. It was like a home, what a joy to be so comfortable. The distance to Stow was about a mile and so a quick trip for dinner or to the bakery perfect. I will share our great experience with all my friends.

“Nice, quiet, convenient place to stay just outside Stow”
Reviewed 20 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Very well equipped cottage
Convenient situation in the quiet village of Maugersbury
Nice rural walks from the front door particularly for our two small poodles !
Stow on the Wold town is just a few minutes drive and has shops cafes pubs etc in abundance.
Several houses & gardens run by the National Trust etc.are also nearby.
Moreton in Marsh is a short drive away & was worth a visit as was
Chipping Norton.
An excellent visit.

The cottage is clean, well equipped & comfortable. It is a perfect location for visiting all the Cottswold's villages. The owners have thought of everything from a games cupboard to fresh flowers, biscuits & chocolate! I can't recommend this cottage enough. There is even a small library room upstairs which is light, airy & full of books & brochures & perfect for a quite read. The garden is a pleasant size & the real coal fire in the lounge is a huge bonus.
