Lovely traditional cotswold stone cottage in the beautiful village of maugersbury. Everything you needed for a self catering week was supplied in the cottage. There was building work adjacent to the cottage but this did not affect our stay in fact the noise was negligable. Lovely walks close by and only a 10 minute walk to stow on the wold, with all the town has to offer. Conservatory at the back of the property was a nice place to have your meals. I would have given a 5 star rating but for a couple of issues. The seating in the lounge was not adequate for 4 adults, one small 2 seater settee and 2 very small single chairs not big enough for 6 foot adults. Water pressure in shower was also very poor. Two small problems that can easily be put right and gain the 5 stars.

“Wonderful Stay at Lovely Place”
Reviewed 6 August 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed at the cottage during the half term of my son and his friend who are having public exams after the holidays. There are plenty of space for the boys to stretch out at the cottage for their studies. The separate dining table at the conservatory is just wonderful to them. It is convenient to have a toilet downstairs. The cottage enjoys the best of both world, quiet and peaceful on its own but conveniently located for me and my wife to make visits to other Cotswold towns nearby in less than an hour's drive. There are a lot of information pamphlets in the study room for us to plan for short walks. Tesco Superstore is just minutes of drive away and there are a lot of interesting shops and restaurants in the Stow-of-Wold town which are worth visiting. We enjoy very much our stay at the cottage and are thankful to Mary for all her advice before the trip. Will visit again.

We loved the experience of an English Spring, ensconced so comfortably in the lovely stone cottage,Crooked Beams. With a homely kitchen, a warm sunroom for daytime writing post-cards home, a library for browsing, and cosy beds, it's a wonder we even ventured out to the beautiful outdoors. But it was an excellent base for two Australians to explore the Cotswolds and be refreshed for our onward travels .... Great memories!

“Great location in a lovely area.”
Reviewed 26 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Lovely little cottage within walking distance of tea rooms, pubs and shops with just an 8 min walk. Ideally situated for lots of other beautiful Cotswold villages. The cottage itself is very well equipped, with a little library well stocked with maps and tourist info, which we found useful. There was building works going on adjacent to the cottage however the builders did try their best to keep the noise down. They started work early so no chance of a lie in.... The work is well on the way and, once complete, it will enhance the parking and the facilities in general. Despite the building works, we really enjoyed staying there and would recommend it to anyone.

“A hidden Gem”
Reviewed 29 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

A beautiful cottage situated in a quiet village area yet only 0.5 miles from Stow and all its amenities. The cottage was well equipped with everything one needed. The beds were comfortable, also there was a "reading room" full of books and local activity pamphlets. The garden was secluded, and on a nice day an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. We ate in some of the time and enjoyed using the conservatory for dining. The heating system was very easy to use especially on chilly mornings. Will be revisiting!!!

“Wonderful cottage,fantastic location”
Reviewed 26 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Crooked Beams is a wonderful base in the Cotswolds; cottage is spotlessly clean and every convenience has been provided-milk,cake and flowers on arrival are a lovely touch.
There are many lovely walks from the village and all the main villages and towns easily accessible ; Stow is an an easy 10 minute walk away with a fantastic array of shops and pubs/restaurants.
We loved our stay here and can thoroughly recommend it,thank you .
