We called in early afternoon on Sunday for lunch. We were the only ones in the conservatory, but it was a nice afternoon so some were eating outside. We choose the Ploughmans lunch and one beer and a pino. The ploughmans was very nice with fresh ham and cheese, pickle in a pot and salad and pork pie also crusty bread and butter. However, it was served on those horrid wooden boards which I hate. The salad was from a packet and lacked freshness and flavour. Otherwise a nice lunch. Waitress ok, not really on the ball seemed a bit detached. The bill was a big surprise, the food was just under £11 each, that was ok but the glass of white pino was just under £7 nearly as much as the food. This was the most expensive glass of wine I had had in Stow, and it was no different from the rest. What a mark up they have on this as a good bottle of pino rarely costs more than the glass did. Would have had coke if I had realised I was funding the landlords pension pot. What a cheek.
