Dog friendly pub with superb sandwiches (cheese & pickle!) - so good that we had to make a repeat trip.

Advised by the pub when I phoned to book a table as it would be bank holiday when I planned to visit. Arrived on the due date about 20 minutes early, table was ready and just as requested, table for two in a corner. mouth watering menu, food was served quickly and piping hot and I mean hot!!!! dessert eaten we paid and left, overall a very friendly pub in a stunning location

This place is in the middle of a very small village and down some very narrow roads but worth the trip, The food was wonderful, the service was friendly and we were not left waiting to eat even though they were very busy. We ate in the bar but would not want to sit in the restaurant as this looked cramped and not as cosy. But this is a place you must visit.

We only had an ice cream and drink here on our way through Sheepscombe walking back to Painswick. But the ice cream was absolutely delicious - local and lovely (there was white chocolate and honeycombe - wow wowo wow! The meals we saw people having looked very nice and were getting favorable comments. My husband enjoyed his pint of local beer too
