We visited Woodchester Park on a sunny and warm Good Friday. The car park (£3 or free to NT members) is a LONG walk from the lakes, along a fairly hard stony track, but well worth the views of beautiful Woodchester Mansion - not NT owned and therefore a charge to look around. Had a picnic by the lakes, and will be back for longer walks and a look around the house. Fascinating. Cafes in both the car park and the house, selling ice creams etc,

I went to the park on Saturday 22 March. The track to the NT car park is terrible, the walk to the mansion will be great in May when the garlic is in flower, the Mansion was closed, but that was expected, if it had been open there is no way I would pay £4.50 when I am a NT member, to walk around an unfinished 'mansion'

The woodland walk was a disappointment, the whole woodland needs clearing and good management, work has been started on this, but there was rutted pathways littered with cut tree branches, Walking in the local countryside would have been more rewarding.

The lake walks are dull, I don’t know how long the NT have owned this piece of the Cotswold, but I expected the Boat House at least would have had some work done on it, it would have been nice to go inside it, but no, it is locked

On the whole, a pretty miserable experience, even though the day was sunny.

I will not be rushing back, but maybe it will be better in the autumn

What a place! I have walked and run in the park during the winter, and despite the work going on that has churned the paths into mud paths, this place is amazing and worth every moment of your time. The lakes and mansion take you by surprise at every turn and reward the explorer in you!

A simply stunning valley with wonderful woodland walks circumnavigating two or three lakes. This is a walk you must do in every season of the year as the changing colours are simply inspirational. You will always see something different. I have never known it to be busy although it does attract families, walkers and anglers alike. Relatively easy walking with one or two steep sections if approaching from the "Crystal fountain" end of Nailsworth. Boots or wellies required. We are fairly brisk walkers and the round the lakes walk takes us just about an hour and a quarter. Once done it becomes a favourite, Take a camera if photography is your thing. Gloucestershire at its hidden best.

My husband and I visited Woodchester Park whilst in the area to enjoy the colours of autumn and try and burn off some of the lovely food we had in the hotel.
Very busy Park and car park was full when we arrived at 11.30am on a November Sunday morning. We were looking forward to going down to the boat house but sadly the blue route (4 miles) is closed due to tree felling. Enjoyable walk through the woods sadly not too much to see as under cover but we did pass by the unfinished Woodchester Mansion although not open to the public.
We strolled slowly through the woods and enjoyed watching the many gliders taking off in the adjacent private airport and would estimate 60-90mins would be adequate to cover this site.
Would very much like to return when the blue route is reopened to enjoy the longer walk
Please note there are no toilets on site or canteen
Parking is £2 but free if you are a NT member
