“Perfect escape!”
Reviewed 3 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Bobby's Nook for new year and already want to return. It is a perfect size for 2 people, very cosy with all the equipment you could ever need to cook with. We were left a lovely welcome tray on arrival and the place was spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfy and the shower (or wet room) was fantastic. We were very happy with our stay and were made to feel very welcome. An extremely handy information pack was left out for us which detailed all the important things to know about the local area. The owners have really thought of everything and put a lot of effort into making it all so perfect. Would recommend to anyone and are likely to return!

“What a gem!”
Reviewed 31 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Booked as a last minute long weekend getaway. It was exactly how it was advertised. The hosts were brilliant, friendly and very helpful. The cosy nook had everything and more that we needed and very tastefully decorated. Brilliant scenic views, well placed in such a beautiful part of the country. Recommend going to the farmers market in Stroud. Lovely pub in walking distance. Lovely and peaceful with plenty to do, we wished we could have stayed longer. We definitely intend to visit again in the future. Well done with all your hard work with the renovations- you would never have guessed what it as before!

“ANT INFESTATION IN WOOD WORK SURROUNDING PATIO DOORS IN LOUNGE”
Reviewed 23 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We Stayed at Bobby's nook in August the cottage was clean and well equipped for a holiday let. At first all was well when we arrived then we found that there was a large infestation of ants and flying ants at the patio doors leading into the lounge as the wood was rotted away we contacted the owner who came and put ant powder and gel down for 3 days in a row this did not solve the problem the ants and flying ants were coming through the crack in the wood into the lounge we went back to the owner again as we found this most unacceptable we were informed that someone was coming on the Friday which was the day we were leaving so this was no good to us this totally spoiled our holiday as you could not sit outside because of flying ants. We felt the owner was happy when things were alright but was not happy when there was a problem and to us this was a big problem . I have emailed the owner since my return home but have not had a response . We are definitely not happy with the outcome. Also property advertised Wi-Fi this did not the work also advert does not mention how tight the lane is to get in to the cottage our car just made it in it is very tight for a big vehicle

Unfortunately no suggestions have been made in this review as to how our service could have been improved so it is difficult to know what more could have been done. This is a pity as we are always ready to take on board any ideas for improvement. We encourage our guests to contact us if there is anything they need and to complete our own independent feedback form at the end of their stay, though obviously in this case the opportunity was declined. The above review is inconsistent with the fact that the reviewer stayed a night longer than the original booking for which no payment was made.
We are always happy to assist with our guests requirements and on the evening of the second day of the rental a fast response was given to a request for further equipment. Several stores were immediately phoned to find out if the item was in stock and a special trip was made, minutes before closing time, to acquire this.
With regard to our WiFi connection, we do make it clear that this is a rural area, consequently the broadband is not as fast as that found in, for example, inner cities. Please check your equipment as no problem has been found at the property.
With regard to the ants, which have been prevalent this summer owing to the hotter weather, during this rental, we contacted the local Environmental Health department who assured us that ants do not pose a health or hygiene hazard. We called them to treat the area but being at peak time of year for other insects they were fully booked dealing with other more dangerous infestations such as wasps and we were given advice which we subsequently followed. We contacted several privately run companies and the earliest available booking was on the Friday as mentioned. In the end, this appointment could not be met so the treatment took place on the following Monday and we have paperwork regarding this. The operative who visited told us that no action was necessary, however, for peace of mind we asked him to treat the area anyway. The guests who stayed over the intervening weekend were informed of the situation on arrival. We were pleased to see that the reviewer did sit out in the garden, however, we were surprised that the table and chairs had been moved from the garden at the rear, where there were no ants, and placed outside the patio doors in the front garden.
With regard to the entrance, this type of lane is completely characteristic of this area, which has amazing views, as a result of only a short climb. Our driveway is a few metres up a short lane which takes surprisingly large vehicles. We have a large private drive, with ample space to turn large vehicles round and a level parking area that is close to the apartment. It is of course possible to park on the road below if preferred, with only a short walk back up the lane, although none of our guests have found this necessary.
Lastly, we make it clear in the ad that this is a non-smoking property. We also remedied various items at the end of this rental so that they would not inconvenience future guests, for example, the microwave that had been broken.

“Perfect Hideaway for Easter Weekend”
Reviewed 19 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Bobby'snook is a sweet little annex, extremely clean, warm and very comfortable. The Kitchen is fairly large and fully equipped -really easy to cook in! The lounge/dining room is comfortable and warm and the bedroom overlooks fields and views of the Cotswolds and Stroud, and has a very comfortable bed. The Bathroom has a fantastic overhead shower which you don't want to get out of!

We stayed over the Easter long weekend and were greeted by a welcome pack of hot cross buns, butter, milk, tea (earl grey and English breakfast), coffee, butter, sugar and some lovely daffodils! The Owners who live at the big house on the same site were very welcoming and friendly, although not at all obtrusive. There is a detailed welcome pack provided with everything you need to know about Bobby's Nook and the local area.

The only disappointment was that the local pub mentioned in the particulars seems to have closed down - and there isn't really another within walking distance. We found the Town of Stroud to be quite quaint and perhaps a little bit behind the times, but there is Cheltenham and Gloucester not far away of you want a bit more of a lively atmosphere!

Bobby's Nook is perfect if you are looking for a complete getaway, where you can relax and recharge the batteries in a pretty setting. The owners have put a lot of though and care into making sure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable, we would definitley go back and recommend to friends!
