What a beautifully updated converted chapel in Slad! This place screams Wow!
Inside and out this 'house' is beautiful. The views of the fields with sheep and the famous Woolpack Pub a short walk down the road is all you need. The chapel has a large kitchen with everything available you could possibly need or want. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms. The showers had great pressure and were carefully thought out when converted. There were times we just stayed there and sat outside to read and just look around. Having graves out front was kind of neat. This is a great location for visiting South Wales, the Jurassic Coast, Hampton Court, Oxford and places like Bourton on the Water. Really cannot say enough about the place. Would highly recommend it.
We chose The Old Chapel in Slad for my Dad's 65th birthday weekend, and didn't anticipate what an unforgettable stay it would be.
The building and interior are simply stunning. Full of incredible artwork, interesting pieces and beautiful decor, we spent the first half an hour wandering round trying to take it all in! The overall feel the owners have created is absolutely perfect- cosy and comfortable while still being super-modern.
A gorgeous location too- the views over the valley are really something and there are some great walks on the doorstep. The Woolpack pub is 300m away and serve a brilliant Sunday roast (make sure you book!)
Debra who manages the property couldn't have been more helpful and the instructions when we arrived were very easy to follow. Special thanks for letting us arrive two hours early and leave two hours late- with a baby in the party this was a massive help! It really was an absolutely fantastic weekend and The Old Chapel blew us away. We want to come back!
Delayed review as I've just come across this again whilst browsing. Stayed here for a long weekend almost 2 years ago now. My party consisted of my parents, husband, sibling and nephews. We all loved the chapel. It's a great size for 8 of us. We all loved the communal areas and we could eat and exist comfortably without being under each other's feet.
The house is close to a pub that's walking distance and serves nice pub food with a nice atmosphere.
Would recommend and will hopefully be back.
The Old Chapel is a wonderful place for family and friends to get together. Our family want to live there permanently but are happy to call it home for a week or so. It is beautiful, comfortable and fun in all weathers. We all have our favorite aspects but for me its the fabulous kitchen that we can enjoy cooking in and sitting around the table that will squeeze in ten people cosily.
Great communication too with the lovely Debra.
The Old Chapel is a wonderful place to stay in a great location. We absolutely loved our time there.
Very well equipped too. Perfect really.
We have been here before and very pleased it remains a beautiful house, well cared for with lots of thought. You quickly make it your second home after a day, combined with great walks to local villages (and associated pubs that just happen to be there).
Our Dog just loves sitting at the top of the garden watching the world go by after a hard days walk. Lovely.
Gorgeous house and just the right size for a group of friends. We loved the modern open plan spaces, cosy log fire, beautiful views and lovely bedrooms. The Woolpack pub, a couple of mins walk away, with it's great food and ambience was also perfect.
