We had a lovely greeting when Rob the owner met us in his Sydney Olympic sweater; obviously wanting us to feel at home. Lyncroft is a gorgeous home perfect for any extended family (our group ranged from 10 to 77). The cottage has a pretty garden, loads of books and even a playroom for younger children. It's all very well equipped and had all we needed including WiFi. Two pubs are within walking distance - The Ram and The Lamb Inn at Eastcombe. The latter has good food and views. A gastronomic treat further afield was The Bear at Bisley. We enjoyed trips to Bourton-On-The-Water, Bibury, Bath and Bisley. We stayed four days, but could have easily stayed much longer, especially given we didn't even put our walking boots on. Highly recommended.

The property is delightful with a lovely garden overlooking the local hills. The owners have left plenty of books for serious walkers. We love walking but tend to be 'town walkers, sticking to pavements!' We found local walks to suit and had a very enjoyable time even if it did rain!
A local well stocked Tesco and excellent local friendly pub, the Ram, within two minutes walk. The menu was right up my street good but unpretentious pub food.
We had planned taking our elderly parents but were pleased we didn't as they would have found the small steps down to the lounge and the different levels upstairs tricky.

Liked best: Everything
Liked least: Getting lost despite Robert giving VERY detailed directions! (The A417 was closed due to flooding which didn't help with my sense of direction!)
Travelling group: Spouse/Partner
