We only stayed the night but the hotel was lovely the staff was very friendly we were greeted by a lovely receptionist that was originally from our neck of the woods.
The room was fantastic lovely shower with Molton Brown toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities with some very nice coffees and teas.
Nice firm bed and all very clean.
We didn't have dinner here so I can't comment on that but the breakfast was delicious a cut above what we normally get in a hotel.
Will definitely rebook if we are in the area again.

Very welcoming staff.. lovely clean big rooms. Food was great. Couldn't find any fault with the place. We went to a friend's wedding that took place there and stayed the night, would definitely go back there. Lovely views as well , great value for money.

What a fabulous place. You just feel the tension dropping off when you arrive; the staff simply cannot do enough for you - but without being too 'in your face'.

The rooms are a decent size, plenty of space and comfy beds. We were there in the cold snap, but the room was nice and warm - almost too warm! Nice hot shower with great toiletries.

The bar staff were welcoming with a very wide range of drinks - including some great beers and ciders on draft. The food was fresh, tasty and surpassed expectation. We'd recently stayed at The Close (in the same chain about three miles away) but the food here was better for some reason even though it was the same menu....

The grounds aren't as extensive as we thought, but plenty enough and with Westonbirt next door....

We also had our dog with us and the facilities for her were excellent. A hot outdoors doggy shower was a first and the sausage breakfast was a nice little touch.

Room tip: Room 46 is by the kitchens, so avoid if you're a light sleeper. Book though Pets Pajamas if you have a dog; they will match the rack rate

We stayed at the Hare and Hounds for Christmas 2023 as part of the package, arriving on Christmas Eve and leaving on the 27th. We experienced the usual great welcome and personal attention throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The room was brilliant, the whole atmosphere and surroundings were fantastic, the staff were incredible without exception and we couldn't have been more pleased with our Christmas. We thought the food was outstanding. Very good choice during our whole stay, lovely breakfasts and overall we both felt that we had the best Christmas ever.
We have stayed at the Hare and Hounds several times over the years, including Christmas, and we have never been disappointed.

Having stayed over Xmas in 2022 and had a wonderful experience we decided to visit for just our Christmas dinner on Christmas Day 2023. What a very big disappointment. We had to pre book our meal and pay in advance £120-00 each so total of £240-00. Here is what we had, starter Smoked Salmon which was as it turned out the only course that was up to expectations. Main course was Beef Wellington, the beef was delicious, however this came with one piece of carrot, a green leaf of kale and three roast potatoes, Dessert, my wife had Xmas pudding which was dry and I had what was described as cheese cake which in reality was a short bread biscuit about 1 1/2 inches diameter with cheese cake filling on top with no attempt to garnish the large expanse of white empty dish. We declined the Cheese and opted for coffee which came with coffee grains floating on to and very strong so we left most of it. £240-00 for this! Beware, avoid this place.

Room tip: Avoid this Hotel which was once excellent but not now
