“A lucky find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

ended up here after a nearby pub stopped serving food ridiculously early on a bank holiday, really pleased we came here instead! really friendly barmaid, lovely interior and nice beer garden. delicious food- amazing steak. only let down was one member of staff who gave the impression that we were an imposition, forgot our coffee and didn't give us the 10% discount with Arboretum tickets even when instructed by the other staff to do so. this was a fly in the otherwise excellent ointment and generally we really enjoyed our visit.

“Home reared pork”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

Ate here on a stopover in the camp site out the back of the pub, we both had the pork chops which were succulent with a tasty pork rind. Ample portions, along with a pint or 3 of the landlords Sherston Cider made for a great night. The addition of some Blugress musicians was a bonus, apparently they play here most Fridays .

The pork and cider are both produced by the owners locally which i do like. The pub also has open fires and dogs are welcome.

Would definitely use again

“Hidden tasty delights”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

A pork and fennel burger with beetroot coleslaw and finely fried chips for me and the creamiest Stilton soup and meat platter (from the publicans ow. pigs) was a lovely stop for lunch enroute. Ask the lovely couple who run the place and they might even tour you their livestock and veg garden out the back. The Holford Arms hides it's charm without the usual 'gastro' baubles outside. The car park is pot holed, the neighbours sell large farming equipment, so it's for the discerning eater and drinker to hunt this one down and discover an atmosphere the local community clearly knows is special already.
