Booked online having never been to Tetbury before. Attending wedding at St Marys so were looking for an attractive place to stay. Budget was not really an issue. Website pictures painted a picture of an attractive Hotel on the High Street but are in fact very misleading.
Decor in serious need of a refurb, rooms radiator was not working. We attended breakfast at roughly 9.45 (Breakfast ends at 10.30) Buffet comprised of plate with half eaten Melon on it and Cereal selection with empty Muesli jar. Tables are numbered by rooms and ours had been taken by another party so given alternative table with no cutlery. Very polite Waitress but with an almost empty dining room said that there machine could not keep up with Coffee orders. Wifes tea arrived with no milk. Cooked Breakfast was very good. The stay cost £135 and relatives who stayed at The Close paid £165 for a worlds apart experience!

Room tip: Seek an alternative Hotel

What a let down after website promised great things. Located on a busy main road surrounded by a modern housing estate and with a fish and chip shop attached! Our very disappointing room on the first floor looked out on the backs of houses and their conservatories. Totally lacking in atmosphere inside. Bare and unwelcoming foyer with a dirty stained leather sofa. Never anyone on reception during our 2 day stay - a problem when key cards did not work. Rang bell but had to go in search of service. Room was clean though. Breakfast served by miserable young lady who looked as if she did not want to be there. Barely spoke to us. Continental breakfast a disgrace: three bowls of cereals(Rice Krispies, cornflakes and bran flakes), a plate of muffins and a small bowl of melon with a smattering of grapes. A thoroughly depressing experience. Avoid!!

Room tip: Not the first floor or views of housing estate.

Visited today for my Mums 60th Birthday and everything was fantastic!! The food was excellent and the staff were extremely attentive. We had a table in a private dining area which was fantastic for the children as they could get down between courses and not cause a nuisance; there was even a box of toys which they all loved! I would highly recommend this place.

This was my third time staying at The Priory Inn and I was as always very happy. The rooms are spacious, with plenty of room. I had two rooms, one for myself and one for my teenaged girls who loved the breakfasts and free biscuits. Beds were very comfortable and the staff we extremely nice. Highly recommended.

Room tip: Family room is perfect for travellers with children.
