My wife and I went for lunch at the Lords of the Manor for my birthday. Having had a lovely dinner there last November we thought we would try lunch.
An excellent meal was had, perfect service, spot on timing and the food was heavenly also.
The restaurant was not full but almost so, as such that there was an excellent atmosphere.
Pea soup with boiled quails eggs and truffle sauce was to me a highlight taste wise.
Will be back in 2013 - all things being equal!
If I have a criticism it is that my Bloody Mary didn't have celery salt in it! But I am not going to deduct a stat=r for this very minor omission.

The overnight stay we had booked included "The Market Menu" which I am not sure you can have without staying but there was an option to up grade to the a la carte or the tasting menu which were both magnificent. However on reading the inclusive menu we thought it sounded lovely and decided to stay with it and were not dissapointed. The courses along with the canopies and the little extras which were served were superb. The wine list is extensive and very varied and as you would expect littered with very expensive vintages and famous wines from all over the world. We choose a a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile which was great value. The Breakfast was also a super way to start the day, even after the meal on the previous evening we just had to find space and again it was lovely. The service all through our dining experience was attentive and not overwhelming so a big thumbs up to The Lords of the Manor!

Stunning food in a wonderful environment. From the brilliant, but querky, canapes to the skillful desserts this meal was a delight and served by knowledgeable and helpful staff
