We stayed and dined here for several nights in May. I am only reviewing our dinner experiences in this review. We will comment on the room and the house in a separate review.
We had 2 dinners here. Both were outstanding. We are vegetarians, and the talented and inventive kitchen presented us with 2 meals we thought were superb. Our first dinner was a winemaker dinner with wines from Maison Cazes (FR). The kitchen did an outstanding job in customizing our vegetarian courses to match the wines. Our second dinner was later in our stay. Both meals were multi-course tasting menus, each with delicious and beautifully prepared and presented courses. While all the food was outstanding, the Warm Chocolate Tart dessert in dinner #2 was, without question, one of the best desserts we have ever had! Were it possible to have done so, I would have emptied my luggage and stuffed it with as many of these Tarts as I could have brought home.
Our experience with the wine list was very limited, due to the winemaker dinner on our dinner #1, and our having brought in an English sparkling wine purchased during our trip for dinner #2. We did look over the wine list, very expansive and varied. We did select an Italian white as an aperitif for dinner #2. Seemed fairly priced and was most enjoyable with our meal.
We would not hesitate to return. Most highly recommended.
