I cant rave about the hotel enough. Sometimes, its about facilities (and this has no leisure club); sometimes it is location (and there are any number of pretty rural hotels all over the British Isles), but its always about the service. Here, you really felt the hotel staff would do anything they could to make your stay more enjoyable - and an online reference for Hannah. In the regular turnaround of service staff in the hospitality sector, this lady has a real future.

Room Tip: We were in the Eyeford room - a) some noise from upstairs, and b) an overflowing bath through our ba...

Althought it had been a while since we visited the hotel our last visit was excellent, we haven't visited since as although it has retained its one michelin star the chef has gone to pastures new and the taster menu has increased in price to £90 per head and in our opinion is overpriced.

Room Tip: Rooms are totally depentant on what you wish to pay. Remember this is an old building.

We had a special winter break offer with dinner bed and breakfast for the bargain rate of £175.
We were given the splendid Cornelius suite. The dinner was memorable in every respect and the whole Lords of the Manor experience in terms of accommodation, food and the warmth of the welcome was a real treat.

Can't describe in sufficient superlatives how much we enjoy LOM. The staff are a credit to the hotel, they cater for your every whim. Fantastic training or natural ability of the staff, either way means your weekend is everything you wish it to be. Just ask! Food is superb! We will definitely be back.

My husband and I took advantage of a one night special offer. The service was exceptional from the moment we pulled up in the car. The room was comfortable and we regretted only staying for one night! Tea in the 'drawing room', and later our after dinner coffee, made us feel like the Lord and Lady of the Manor! A chance to experience how the other half (used to) live!

My husband kindly took me for a nights stay at this hotel as a birthday treat.......and what a treat it was! From the moment we pulled into the drive we were greeted by a member of staff who took our luggage into the hotel and then drove our car to the car park. The excellent service continued throughout our stay and our room was stunning. Beautifully appointed and furnished with garden views. We had the pleasure of eating in the restaurant and were treated to a pre dinner drink and canapés before being escorted to our table. The food was exquisite and I really cannot find fault with any part of our stay. We slept well in our great big bed and I was sad to leave this hotel behind the next day. This is a place that I definately hope to return to one day. If you are looking for a romantic get-away with sumptuous food the lords of the manor is an absolute must.

This weekend was our wedding anniversary and my birthday. My wife arranged to meet some friends here for a surprise weekend celebration. The hotel was wonderful, clean, full of character without being old fashioned and chintzy. The staff were friendly, courteous, and being a small hotel they were able to remember and use our surnames when we saw them. Our room, Spelsbury, was really nice with a comfortable bed, amazing powerful shower and was very quiet at night. We had drinks in the bar on arrival with our friends before a walk around the lovely grounds. Relaxed in the room before 3 hours in the restaurant enjoying the taster menu. Both the evening meal and breakfast were fantastic. We were not rushed and the staff were attentive and we had a few laughs with them. This wasn't a cheap weekend but we wouldn't expect it to be with this level of hotel and service. I would love to return in the summer for another weekend indulgence. If there was one thing that could have made it more special it would have been the staff acknowledging it was our anniversary and the birthdays of both guys in our party eg a candle on a desert or something personal......
