“Period Property in Historic Village with good accommodation!”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

My wife and I stayed here with our 3 children aged 4 to 8 and found it very suitable.
We enjoyed the Village location and the quietness with only the muted bells of St Peters church next door to mark the passing of the evening!; the children enjoyed playing at the ford on the River Eye.
The cottage has good room sizes and the playroom was super for the kids who enjoyed the games and having their own den!
Everything we needed was available.
We would like to stay again in The Old School House - that says it all!

Liked best: Lot's of room and a character property in quiet village with a nice garden.
Liked least: Bed in MB a bit short for taller/tallest folk! A larger shower cubicle and/or a shower head in bath would benefit.

“Wonderful holiday in idyllic setting”
Reviewed 9 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

It's not often that we don't want to come home after a weeks holiday, but this time we all wished we could stay another week. The house, weather and location were just so perfect.

From the moment we walked in the door we felt at home, the house was so well equipped and comfortable.

There are lots of lovely walks right from the doorstep and our daughter loved playing in the pretty stream at the bottom of the hill. With plenty of good pubs and restaurants close by. There was so much more in the area we wanted to explore.

My Mum and Dad are already talking about their next holiday in Upper Slaughter and even the nine hour car journey home won't put us of booking the Old School house again.

What a fabulous find - a gorgeous cottage with a beautiful garden on a hill with a view of a little stream. Picture perfect! The location is fantastic in Upper Slaughter, a wonderful village in beautiful surroundings. The house itself has real character, is very clean and comfortable with a bright kitchen and cosy bedrooms. Lucia, the lovely owner, has thought of everything to make your stay in the Old School House enjoyable and special. She is very helpful. Thank you for all the great recommendations of cosy country pubs/restaurants and fun activities to do with the family. The kids loved running around in the garden and going for walks following the stream. If you are looking for a peaceful weekend away in the countryside - this is the place to go to. We absolutely loved the beautiful house and would love to stay here again.
